Ranvir Singh, 48, says she ‘isn’t ruling out marriage’ with toyboy boyfriend Louis Church, 29, as she makes rare admission about their relationship

She split from her first husband when she was seven months pregnant and raised her son as a single parent.

And now, 13 years on, Ranvir Singh isn’t ruling out getting married for a second time, after establishing a ‘traditional family dynamic’ in the ‘Western sense’ with toyboy boyfriend Louis Church.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 48, who was raised in a Sikh household in Lancashire, moved in with the producer, 29, earlier this year and said their ‘understanding’ of each other had ‘definitely deepened.’

Ranvir met BBC producer Louis when she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 and they have been quietly building on their relationship ever since, but she’s unsure that getting married would ‘add’ anything.

‘I don’t spend any time daydreaming about marriage. I wouldn’t rule it out, but it’s certainly not a primary concern,’ she told Woman and Home magazine.

‘I don’t know what marrying would add to my life at this point, when I have a house and a child, and I’m not planning on having any more.

‘Now we’ve got more of a traditional family dynamic in the Western sense, [Louis and my] understanding of one another has definitely deepened, and that breeds more love and more care.’

Ranvir was briefly married to Ranjeet Singh Dehal in 2012, but they split just two months before the birth of their first child.

The presenter, who worked for BBC North West Tonight before joining ITV in 2012, said she is now a size 10 and feels stronger than ever after ditching the fad diets that ruled her life for so many years.

‘It annoys me that for so long, we’ve been told [fitness is] about being thin. That’s so detrimental,’ she said.

‘I’ve been thinner than I am now, but by doing an aloe vera diet for 21 days.

‘Another time, I bought diet pills over the counter of a beauty salon. I was really dehydrated and my skin was really bad, but I was thin. It was stupid.’

She added: ‘I’ve always fluctuated between a size 8 and 12, but recently I’m more regularly a 10.

‘What’s happened to my body over the past year is a by-product of plodding on with the gym and eating more mindfully. My weight doesn’t matter. Being strong does.’

The television star, who has previously spoken about how she’s had an unhealthy relationship with food and eating in the past, said that food is still ‘my nemesis.’

She said that ‘like many people, I’ve overeaten because I’ve used food as a primary emotional support, constantly in a loop of overeating and under-eating,’ and that it has ‘wallpapered every aspect of my life in every circumstance.’

She added: ‘Food became an incredibly kind, important, consistent best friend that I could always trust to make me feel better at night, in the morning, when no one’s looking, when everyone’s looking.’

But, she said she now feels ‘liberated by not having fear.’

Earlier this year she joined an women’s-only gym and started weight training, which was hard at first and a ‘mental transition’, but something she is now ‘evangelical about.’

She said: ‘At 48, I feel the most sure of myself. I feel more grounded.

‘Before, I catastrophised a lot, so it’s taking conscious effort to remind myself that things are okay.’
