A FURIOUS Love Island star has hit out at her ex as she was forced to hand their daughter over on Christmas Day.
Malin Andersson, 33, woke up on Christmas Day morning, opened presents with her daughter Xaya, 3, and then said goodbye to her for a large portion of the day.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Malin shared a video of her daughter unwrapping presents before penning: “And like that… she’s gone.”
Malin then gave a little more context and revealed she had to hand over her baby girl to her ex Jared, whom she welcomed Xaya with in 2022 before he left her.
“Christmas silence but I get her back at 4pm then it’s party time,” she penned over the top of a snap of her with Xaya.
“Even if her dad didn’t even acknowledge me, say happy Xmas, or even get a card from Xaya (which I do from her).
“I remind myself people will always show you who they are.”
On the next slide, Malin added: “Someone who cannot look at the mother of their child and say ‘Happy Christmas’ is not withholding out of strength – they’re avoiding out of incapacity.”
Malin then did a chatty video where she explained she was heading on a Christmas walk “with somebody” before smirking and smiling.
She then praised her fellow co-parenters before her stories cut to a snap of a huge bouquet of flowers.
Later on in the day, Malin shared a sweet snap of her baby girl Xaya, showing her fans she was back home.
Malin welcomed baby Xaya in January 2022 with her then-boyfriend Jared.
But Jared left Malin just a month after their daughter was born, leaving her to raise Xaya as a single mum.
Back in March 2024, Malin wrote for The Sun about the pain she feels when her daughter goes to stay with her dad.
“Xaya’s father and I broke up in February 2022, just four weeks after she was born, and I had no idea how hard it would be bringing her up with someone who no longer lived under the same roof,” she penned at the time.
She also explained in the piece that when she is alone in an empty house, the sadness hits her “like a punch in the stomach”.
“All I want is to cuddle my baby daughter, Xaya, but she is with her dad, Jared,” she wrote.
At the time of her piece coming out in 2024, Malin said: “Jared and I are now in a really good place.
“It’s not perfect, and he can be moody sometimes, but I’ve learned to navigate those unpredictable situations and not react to them.
“He may not have been a great boyfriend, but he’s a great dad to our fiery, feisty, funny daughter.
“Xaya’s got two loving parents and I can finally say that, together, Jared and I are raising a really amazing child, which is all I ever wanted.”
