‘Just been agreed’ – Tyson Fury promoter teases imminent announcement weeks after Gypsy King confirms boxing return

TYSON FURY’s promoter has teased the imminent announcement of a major fight – just a few weeks after the Gypsy King confirmed he’ll return to the ring.

Fury announced his umpteenth retirement from the sport in January, just a few weeks after his second straight defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

The former two-time heavyweight king has ummed and ahhed with the prospect of returning to the ring over the last few months.

But earlier this month, the 37-year-old roared: “The king must return to his throne.

“There is a long & lonely road that only I can walk on, but after the long & hard battles awaits immortality!”

And promoter Frank Warren has added fuel to the fire of a Fury return by revealing he’s set to announce a massive fight in the coming days and weeks.

He wrote on X: “An absolute cracker of a fight has just been agreed!

“Keep an eye out for the announcement, really excited to share the news!”

British boxing fans will be hoping beyond hope that Warren’s announcement will be the long-overdue Battle of Britain between Fury and Anthony Joshua.

London 2012 gold medallist AJ called out the Wythenshawe warrior just moments after breaking Jake Paul‘s jaw in their Miami melee last Friday.

He said: “We shook off the cobwebs and I can’t wait to roll into 2026.

“And if Tyson Fury‘s as serious as he thinks he is, and he wants to put down his Twitter fingers and put on some gloves and come and fight one of the realest fighters out there that will take on any challenge, step into the ring with me next.

“If you’re a real bad man, don’t do all that talking, ‘AJ this, AJ that,’ let’s see you in the ring and talk with your fists.”

Queensberry Promotions bigwig Warren is hoping the pair will finally share the ring after their next respective outings.

In an exclusive interview with SunSport, the veteran promoter said: “For him now to go on holiday and to come back and be ready to fight in February is going to be an impossibility.

“And I’m told AJ’s definitely fighting in February, so it’s tight and if you’re going to put it on either Wembley or Riyadh, that’s where it would go.

“And I believe Wembley’s the home for it. And if it’s Wembley you’ve got to wait till summer anyway.

“So Tyson is not going to sit around waiting seven months before he steps back in the ring having been out for nearly a year anyway.

““But he won’t be fighting a YouTuber!”
