Scarlett Moffatt has shut down claims of a Strictly Come Dancing ‘fix’ ahead of her appearance on the show’s Christmas Special.
The TV personality, 35, is set to take to the ballroom alongside professional dancer Vito Coppola for the festive episode which airs on Christmas day.
However, viewers have pointed out that Scarlett trained in dance during her childhood, prompting accusations the competition had been unfairly stacked in her favour.
Responding to the backlash, Scarlett insisted her previous dance experience is firmly in the past and said it should not give her an advantage so many years later.
She told The Sun: ‘I enjoy dancing, but that was when I was a little girl; I’m 35 now.’
Scarlett explained that she once attended a show Anton and Erin were performing in, which is how the claim that he trained her has been twisted.

She added: ‘It’s so funny though, man. You’ve got to laugh, haven’t you?’
It comes after Strictly fans had been left fuming after the winner of the Christmas special leaked online weeks before the show is due to air.
The Daily Mail won’t be spoiling it for you, but we can reveal that the news was shared on the notorious ‘Strictly Spoiler’ website and later shared to Twitter/X.
This year’s special has a compelling celebrity lineup, which includes Scarlett and Westlife singer Brian McFadden.
Reacting to the spoiler, fans raged that they would not be wasting their time watching the show, writing: ‘Won’t be watching Strictly again even at Christmas.’
‘Not going to waste my time watching, for protest for Lewis and katya [sic].’
Other fans, meanwhile, took umbrage with the choice of winner because of their pre-existing dancing experience but said that they’re still keen to watch the special on Christmas Day.
They wrote: ‘Are we even surprised? Still gonna be an amazing watch though.’

‘They really like pushing the trained dancer… can’t they see this is killing the show.’
‘What a surprise another c**p result.’
Another fan simply joked: ‘I will fool my family on Christmas Day making me look clever. Then I will come clean and own up. Thanks Dave.’
The issue of Strictly’s results being leaked ahead of time is nothing new because of an unidentified mole within the BBC itself.
The man behind the Strictly Spoiler website, Dave Thorp, admitted that his decision to share the results ahead of time has surprisingly not resulted in any action from the BBC.
He told the Metro: ‘I think the last time the BBC ran live results on Strictly was 2009, so that’s probably not on the cards. I think the BBC just accepts that if you’re prerecording something the day before it goes out, it’s going to leak, unfortunately.’
Sadly, the leaking of the winner is not the only controversy to recently surround the hit dancing show, as hinted at by fan reaction to the spoiler.
The Christmas special is set to air on December 25 at 5:30pm.
