Some stars like to make Hollywood a family business in a ‘the more the merrier’ approach.
Not just nepo babies – who seem to be countless, from Angelina Jolie and Charlie Sheen to Apple Martin to Zoe Kravitz – but, rather, nepo siblings.
Often, fans forget that one of their favorite stars has another big star sister or brother at home – mostly because they lead such different lives and have such contrasting careers.
And often the siblings do not look at all alike and they sometimes do not even have the same last names – think Emilio Estevez and Sheen or Warren Beatty and Shirley MacLaine.
Here is a look at Hollywood greats who grew up in the same household with another celebrity right by their side…

TAYLOR SWIFT AND AUSTIN SWIFT
Taylor Swift, 36, has a younger brother named Austin Swift, 33, who works as an actor and producer.
He was born in 1992, just over three years after Taylor was born.
They grew up in Pennsylvania before moving to Nashville, where the blonde beauty began her country singing career.
Austin chose movies instead, attending the University of Notre Dame to study film.
Austin graduated in 2015 then worked on the thriller I.T. and Live by Night.
In 2017, he had TV appearances on Embeds and the Billy Ray Cyrus series Still the King, then worked on Cover Versions, We Summon the Darkness and Braking for Whales.

She sung about him in her tune The Best Day: ‘God smiles on my little brother, inside and out, he’s better than I am.’
In her 2023 interview with Time, she said, ‘My dad, my mom, and my brother come up with some of the best ideas in my career. I always joke that we’re a small family business.’
BLAKE LIVELY AND ROBYN LIVELY
Blake Lively, 38, has an older half-sister named Robyn Lively, 53.
Robyn – whose full name is Robyn Elaine Lively Johnson, is an actress. She is known for her roles in the 1989 films Teen Witch and The Karate Kid Part III.
The star also appeared in the TV shows Doogie Howser, MD, Twin Peaks, Savannah and Saving Grace.
Robyn has also been working with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
Blake has appeared in two of Sheridan’s popular series: she plays Ellie, a waitress, in Landman, and Senator Albright in Lioness, showing a growing connection with Sheridan’s universe.

JESSICA SIMPSON AND ASHLEE SIMPSON
Both sisters came to fame in the early 2000s with the help of their manager father Joe Simpson.
Jessica Simpson, 45, made it first as a singer in the vein of Britney Spears as she came out with hit songs like A Public Affair.
When her reality TV series with husband Nick Lachey took off, she became a household name.
The siren became a Hollywood pin-up, too, in movies such as The Dukes of Hazzard.

CHARLIE SHEEN AND EMILIO ESTEVEZ
Charlie Sheen (Carlos Estévez), 60, and Emilio Estevez, 63, are brothers.
They are both sons of actor Martin Sheen, 85 – born Ramon Estevez – of Apocalypse Now, Wall Street and Grace And Frankie fame.
They have worked on multiple films together, including Wisdom, Young Guns, Men at Work and Rated X.
They are biological brothers, with Charlie the younger sibling.

Emilio was a prominent member of the 1980s Brat Pack, appearing in St Elmo’s Fire and dating Demi Moore then marrying Paula Abdul. He also made the movies The Outsiders and The Breakfast Club.
Charlie has publicly spoken about having felt left out, living in his brother’s shadow, and wanted what he had so he got into acting and made up for lost time by partying frequently.
The pair have stayed close. Emilio supported his bad-boy brother when he came out with his jaw-dropping documentary, aka Charlie Sheen.
ELLE FANNING AND DAKOTA FANNING
Dakota Fanning‘s younger sister is Elle Fanning.
Dakota, 31, and Elle, 27 – who were both child actors – appear to be very close as they often attend red carpet Hollywood events together.
Earlier this month, they were seen arm-in-arm during an event for Elle and her role with brand Coach. They were at the exclusive San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood.
Elle is best known for her role opposite Angelina Jolie in Maleficent. She has also made headlines for dating Gus Wenner.

Elle and the Rolling Stone CEO were first romantically linked last year following her split from Max Minghella after nearly four years of dating.
In 2017, Dakota told Marie Claire magazine that when she was younger, she did not have much of a ‘bond’ with Elle because of the age difference.
‘There are a few years where you’re both experiencing such different things; age nine and 13 – nothing in common; 12 and 16 – we didn’t know what to do with each other,’ she said. But they are much closer now, she said.
Dakota talked to E! News about Elle. ‘We have a very playful relationship, but we’re not competitive,’ Dakota said. ‘We were never competitive growing up.’
She and Elle ‘obviously have similarities,’ but they live different things: ‘We have really different personalities too, so I think that’s also helpful. We like different things.’
ZOOEY DESCHANEL AND EMILY DESCHANEL
Sisters Zooey Deschanel, 45, and Emily Deschanel, 49, are easy to mistake for each other.
They both have brown hair, almond eyes, slender figures and big careers.
Zooey is known for roles in Elf, 500 Days of Summer and New Girl. And Emily is most often associated with her role on the TV series Bones.
They have also worked together: they were in a joint episode of Bones in 2009.

‘It was really fun. Emily was extremely welcoming and accommodating and very sweet,’ Zooey told Channel Guide. ‘I was glad I did it.’
They have told Metro they are ‘different — but also the same,’ with ‘similarities from having grown up in the same household.’
‘You were a really good big sister,’ Zooey told Emily in a 2013 interview. ‘Very protective. Sometimes you were mean. But most of the time you were really nice.’
And she looked up to Emily: ‘You were very cool. I always thought you were very cool.’
Emily called her sibling ‘fearless.’ She told Women’s Health in 2007, ‘In seventh grade this kid didn’t invite Zooey to his bar mitzvah. And she went right up to him and shouted, “Why didn’t you invite me to your bar mitzvah?” I just love that… I would have called my mom crying.’
Their parents are Oscar-nominated cinematographer Caleb Deschanel and actress Mary Jo Deschanel.
OWEN WILSON AND LUKE WILSON
Owen Wilson, 57, and Luke Wilson, 54, are brothers from Dallas, Texas.
They were first seen together in the 1996 film Bottle Rocket. The brothers also collaborated on other films, including 2005’s The Wendell Baker Story.
They also each have their own big Hollywood careers: Owen starred in Wedding Crashers, Night At The Museum and Haunted Mansion; Luke was in Home Fries and Best Men with Drew Barrymore, whom he dated at the time.
He also played Reese Witherspoon’s love interest in 2001’s Legally Blonde and 2003’s Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde. And he might be in a third one: ‘Yeah. I’m always up to work with Reese again,’ he told People in June 2021. ‘We’ll just have to see what happens.’
Their brother Andrew has not worked much in Hollywood since 2017.

During his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in November 2017, Owen shared that he hopes his own two sons aren’t as competitive as he is with his brothers, or if they are, then in a better way.
‘I hope that my boys are more competitive about useful things like getting good grades or who can be nicer to me but it’s probably going to be more like me and my brothers who are still to this day super competitive,’ Owen said.
Owen is a father to three children. He welcomed his son, Robert Ford, on January 14, 2011, with then-girlfriend Jade Duell.
Three years later, on January 30, 2014, he became a father to a second son, Finn, with Caroline Lindqvist. Varunie Vongsvirates gave birth to his daughter, Lyla Aranya, on October 9, 2018.
Luke, on the other hand, doesn’t have children of his own.
Andrew, meanwhile, does not share much about his personal life but is known to have at least one child, a son named Joey.
KATE MARA AND ROONEY MARA
They look very much alike, but Kate, 42, and Rooney Mara, 40, have wildly different careers.
Kate is known for playing reporter Zoe Barnes in the political drama House of Cards and as the computer analyst Shari Rothenberg in the series 24.
She was also in American Horror Story: Murder House (2011), Pose (2018), and A Teacher (2020).
Her films include Random Hearts (1999), Brokeback Mountain (2005), We Are Marshall (2006), Shooter (2007), The Open Road (2009), The Martian (2015), Fantastic Four (2015), and Chappaquiddick (2018), among others.

Rooney began her career acting with Tanner Hall (2009) but she first gained recognition for The Social Network (2010).
Her big hit was 2011’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Next came Side Effects (2013), Her (2013), and Carol (2015).
She won raves when she portrayed Mary Magdalene in the biblical drama Mary Magdalene (2018). Next came Nightmare Alley (2021) and the drama Women Talking (2022).
Both are with other celebrities. Rooney has a child with Gladiator star Joaquin Phoenix. And Kate has a baby with Jamie Bell; they wed in July 2017 and now split their time between Los Angeles and New York.
Penelope Cruz, 51, has a younger sister, Monica, 48, who looks just like her.
So much so, Monica stood in for the silver screen goddess during scenes for Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in 2010.
In 2023, the Oscar-winning star talked about her sibling.
When asked whether she and Monica influenced each other’s styles, Penelope said: ‘Yes, a lot, to the point of, you know, taking a lot of clothes from each other’s closets.
‘Sometimes wearing exactly the same thing when we were little girls.’
Cruz then said that she and Monica would hide ‘in the bathroom together… sitting on the floor with magazines and drawing on top of the designs and changing the designs.’

Penelope Cruz – who used to date Tom Cruise – added, ‘So that was always our main game and a fantasy.’
The sisters have often worked together on collections.
They designed a collection of jewelry and handbags for the Japanese fashion house Samantha Thavasa.
Penelope and her sister created two collections for Swiss retailer Charles Vögele in 2010 and 2011.
And the pair teamed up again 2013 to design a lingerie line titled L’Agent for British lingerie retailer Agent Provocateur.
CAMERON DIAZ AND CHIMENE CAIN
Cameron Diaz, 53, and her older sister Chimene Cain, 55, grew up near Long Beach in California.
The There’s Something About Mary star and her sibling look very much alike with the same wide, engaging smile.
Hollywood icon Cameron- who used to be a model before landing a role in The Mask – is taller, however.
But they have a similar build and hair color, making them nearly twins.

The Sex Tape actress, who’s married to Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden, told the New York Daily News, ‘Sisters have an incredibly strong bond… there’s nothing in the world like it.’
Diaz said that her older sister used to play with her peers as Charlie’s Angels in the 1970s, according to People, but the older girls wouldn’t let her in on the fun.
‘I don’t think they even let me be Bosley,’ she joked.
MAMIE GUMMER AND GRACE RONSON
Meryl Streep’s daughters, Mamie, 42, and Grace Gummer, 39, could pass for twins.
They have the same almond eyes and wide smile with almost matching light brown hair.
Mary Willa ‘Mamie’ Gummer is a Hollywood actress.
She starred in the title role of The CW series Emily Owens, M.D., and played the recurring role of Nancy Crozier on The Good Wife and its spin-off, The Good Fight.

MICHELLE PFEIFFER AND DEDEE PFEIFFER
Michelle Pfeiffer, 67, has a younger sister named Dedee Pfeiffer, 61, who also acts.

Dedee is best known for her work in several horror films. She began her career appearing in films include Vamp, The Allnighter and The Horror Show.

The 47-year-old actresses also came to fame together as the Landry siblings on the show Sister, Sister, which aired from 1994 until 1999.
The sisters then starred together in the fantasy comedy film Seventeen Again (2000) and voiced the LaBelle sisters in the animated series Detention (1999–2000).
The two also starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Twitches (2005) and its sequel, Twitches Too (2007).

Patricia, 57, Rosanna, 66, and David Arquette, 54, are all siblings.
The Arquette siblings come from a line of actors, with their father, Lewis Arquette, also in the business.
Rosanna was the first to get famous as she costarred with Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan then went on to have a role in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction.

David had a lot of luck with his role as Dewey Riley in the Scream franchise – he has been in several of the movies.
And he wed his costar Courteney Cox of Friends fame. Together, they have a daughter named Coco.
There are more siblings: Alexis Arquette, a transgender actress and activist, known for The Wedding Singer and Pulp Fiction, who passed away in 2016.
And there is Richmond, another sibling who is also an actor, appearing in films like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
SHIRLEY MACLAINE AND WARREN BEATTY
Shirley MacLaine, 91, and Warren Beatty, 88, are Hollywood siblings from Richmond, Virginia.
Their parents were Ira and Kathlyn Beaty, and their stage names were creatively crafted so that they would be different.
MacLaine was born Shirley MacLean Beaty in 1934. Beatty was born Henry Warren Beatty in 1937.
