MANCHESTER UNITED have hired Cat Smith from West Ham as their new director of communications.
Smith, who was the head of supporter services and fan engagement at the Hammers, will join the club in the new year.

United have already hired Robert Fawdon from Arsenal to head up corporate communications and Hibernian press officer Adam Tomlinson.
The pair will start their new roles in 2026 and a junior corporate communications hire is also expected.
United’s press office has undergone a major overhaul since Sir Jim Ratcliffe officially became co-owner in February 2024.
The club appointed former Manchester City and Chelsea comms man Toby Craig last year before long-serving press officer John Allen was let go.
Chief communications officer Craig and Smith briefly worked together at Chelsea.
George McCaffrey was promoted to director of football communications in the summer after Andrew Ward decided to leave.
Ward, who spent six years at United, left the club earlier this month.
Smith has drawn praise from West Ham followers through her dealings with the fanbase.
