‘It’s a rollercoaster’: ANDREW PIERCE recounts the emotional search for his birth mother

Most people didn’t know until I wrote my book, Finding Margaret, that I had spent nearly the first three years of my life in an orphanage in Gloucestershire.  

I’d been told that my mother used to visit me in the orphanage regularly, which came as quite a surprise because I presumed she put me there, abandoned me. So, I decided to find my birth mother.
