COPS have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death in a city flat.
The victim, aged 40, was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment to his stab wounds, but he could not be saved.
The grim attack occurred in a flat in Tollgate House, Tollgate Gardens in Maida Vale, in London on December 19.
Met officers were called to the north London address at around 9.42pm, and attended alongside paramedics.
A large police cordon was in place while forensics carried out their enquiries and looked for clues.
Officers have said the victims next-of-kin have been informed of the tragic incident.
The force added that the killer remains at large with no arrests made.
They said it is the early phase of their investigations.
Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby, leading the murder probe, is calling for help from the public.
He said: “My thoughts are with the victim’s family at this unimaginably difficult time.
“Our investigation is continuing at pace as we work to establish the full circumstances around this incident.
“Were you in the area or on Tollgate Gardens on Friday, 19 December?
“Do you have any mobile phone or dash cam footage of individuals in the area around the time of the incident?
“If so, please come forward and speak to police.
“I would also like to thank members of the local community for their patience while our enquires are ongoing, a number of cordons remain in place.”
