RICHARD Branson has shared a touching memory of his late wife on their wedding anniversary.
Joan died aged 80 last month – with the Virgin founder, 75, paying tribute and sharing an image of them together.
Now, Branson has shared a moving message, in which he also pointed out today also marks their daughter Holly tying the knot with husband Freddie Andrewes, as well as the birth of their twins Etta and Artie.
Branson added: “I still remember mine and Joan’s wedding like it was yesterday.”
The entrepreneur shared a series of photos of him and Joan together taken months before she died.
He wrote: “I’m not sure what I was whispering into her ear when these photos were taken on her 80th birthday this year, but I’m glad it made her smile!”
Branson had previously announced Joan’s passing on November 25, describing her as his “best friend” and the “most wonderful mum and grandmum”.
He wrote: “Heartbroken to share that Joan, my wife and partner for 50 years, has passed away.
“She was the most wonderful mum and grandmum our kids and grandkids could have ever wished for.
“She was my best friend, my rock, my guiding light, my world.
“Love you forever Joan x.”
He also
posted an image of them together on Instagram captioned “love this photo of Joan”.
Branson said he “fell in love from the first moment” he saw her in 1976, as she was “unlike any woman I had ever met” and set about wooing her.
In 1966, Joan had married her childhood sweetheart Ronnie Leahy but the pair got divorced in 1978.
She then married Branson in 1989 on his Necker Island in the Caribbean Sea – which he later revealed he only bought to impress her.
