Amanda Holden burst into tears as Alan Carr scrambles to comfort her during moving Christmas moment

Alan Carr was on hand to comfort pal Amanda Holden as the Britain’s Got Talent star burst into tears during a milestone Christmas moment.

The duo star in a hit BBC travel show, where they have carried out renovations in sunny destinations.

In a one-off Christmas special, the pair returned to Spain, where they attended a festive lights switch on in Malaga.

Amanda, 54, became visibly emotional during the event, first declaring #I’m going to cry!’, before adding: ‘I feel like I’m at Disney.’

She then proceeded to bury her face in her hands as Alan, 49, pulled her into hug for comfort.

He remarked: ‘You love Christmas so much!’, while Amanda described her emotional reaction as ‘so silly’.

She continued: ‘I love Christmas, I feel like we’re in our own Christmas movie.’

The BBC shared a clip of this scene on their Instagram page, with one fan commenting: ‘Just adore these two. Such friendship and fun. Good souls x.’

Another added: ‘I love the Amanda and Alan shows, really cheer you up.’

A third chimed in: ‘Watched this and I loved it! Very happy programme and well done for a happy tonic for us all.’

While a fourth remarked:  ‘Love you @noholdenback!!!! You just keep on being silly.

‘That’s one of the things I love most about you. You’re not afraid to show what you’re feeling. Love you, @chattyman.’

Last month, Alan opened up about how Amanda tried to help him with his dating life, but she was a bit ‘naive’ when setting up his account.

Their latest travel installment, Amanda and Alan’s Greek Job, sees the pair renovate a property in Corfu, Greece.

While in Greece, Amanda thought she would attempt to aid the comedian’s love life after making him an account on a Greek app.

Speaking to The Sun Alan explained: ‘Amanda put me on a Greek app, but I don’t think she realised how much information the gays want!

‘There were sizes, kinks: “Are you a train or a tunnel?” “Are you the letter or the letterbox?”‘

He joked: ‘She went “Alan, I love you to bits, but I’ve had to guess some of these.”

‘I think she was a bit naive and thought they’d be asking about eye colour, but it was quite intimate.’

The funnyman previously wed Paul Drayton in 2018 , with pal Adele as their officiant, before announcing their split in January 2022 after being together for 13 years.

Last year, he exclusively confirmed to The Daily Mail that he’s back on the market after his reported split from toyboy boyfriend Callum Heslop, 28.

Alan previously said he would never use apps as shared the one condition he has while dating.

He told the Mirror back in January: ‘I’m dating, I’m dipping my toe in, but that’s all I’m doing. I won’t do the apps, it has to be a friend of a friend.

‘I’m just going on a few dates but they’re unsuccessful. I mean, I’m never in the country, but I’m ready now for someone… anyone.’

Speaking about his type Alan quipped: ‘I look for a rugby boy. I like them big, and chunky – chunky everywhere. If you catch what I’m saying’.

However despite his hopes of finding love the TV personality admitted he was not using any dating sites: ‘How can I go on Grindr? I’m taking it easy at the minute.

‘Do you really want this face popping up on a [dating] app?’
