A BRIT skier has died after plunging 300 metres down a steep off-piste slope in the French Alps.
The holidaymaker, 24, had been traversing down the ice with a group of others just moments before the horrifying fall in Les Arcs 2000.

The fatal plunge unfolded when two skiers in the group tried to traverse down a particularly steep section of the slope.
The dangerous area was above an avalanche dam, located in Chavonnes, Le Dauphiné Libéré reported.
One of the skiers then lost their balance before spiralling out of control for about 300 metres.
Horrified members of the group sounded the alarm before two ski patrollers rushed to the scene.
They discovered that the Brit had suffered a cardiac arrest and was now unconscious.
An air ambulance was scrambled from Courchevel to pick the victim up.
Police arrived about half an hour after the first report was made – but despite the efforts of emergency services, the Brit tragically died.
The second skier who also attempted to go down the tricky path is understood to have become trapped at the top of the slope.
He was later rescued by a police chopper.
According to local media, the slope the Brit fell from is wide at the top but gets narrower towards the bottom.
It then ends by a ridge, which is covered by a small amount of snow – increasing the risk of accidents.
The resort expressed “its most sincere thoughts to the family and the friends of the victim”.
It comes as ski authorities continue to warn tourists to avoid extremely steep off-piste sections of the ice.
During the 2023-24 season, 29 skiers died in accidents in France alone – while more than 50,000 were injured.
The death toll for the previous season was 21.
In February, another young Brit was found dead at the foot of a cliff at a popular ski resort in the French Alps.
The lifeless body of the 23-year-old was found in Avoriaz, which sits on a shelf above the town of Morzine.
The man was understood to have been skiing with pals before partying at a popular après-ski spot called La Folie Douce.
It is thought he then decided to ski down the mountainside alone before he got lost.
Friends raised the alarm when he didn’t return to his accommodation.
Search and rescue teams scoured the area for the Brit before discovering his body the following day.
