DAVID MUNYUA came face to face with the Ally Pally Wasp – quite literally.
The Kenyan – who works full time as a vet – is used to being up close and personal with animals in his day job.

But when you are on that big stage at Alexandra Palace it is maybe the distraction you aren’t counting on.
He is the first man from his country to step on the biggest stage in the sport – and he’s instantly installed himself as everyone’s ‘favourite player’ as he wrote his name into the history books.
His big moment on the Ally Pally stage came with so much drama.
Within the space of five minutes, he won a set, got the crowd on their feet with two 180s and had TWO miscounts of score.
The infamous wasp also decided to land under his eye.
But the drama wasn’t quite done there, he incredibly lost a leg going 17, T14, D16 on 99.
He hit the double – but the wrong number as he required double 20!
The incredible display didn’t stop there for as the Kenyan showed showed nerves of steel to eliminate Mike De Decker from two legs down.
