For Tara Reid, the last few weeks have been devastating.
She has been the subject of a very public probe. The question? ‘Was she or wasn’t she drugged.’
Today Tara learned that police had closed their investigation into the probe of whether her drink was spiked at an Illinois hotel.
The force deemed there was not enough evidence. And now, the American Pie star has told of the heartbreak that she has endured and claims she was bullied mercilessly.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Tara said: ‘It was a truly heartbreaking experience.
‘All of the bullying I have been subjected to since and everyone twisting reality without the facts they weren’t even there to witness is truly affecting my mental health and I need it to stop.’
The American Pie star, 50, also says that the CCTV from the night doesn’t show her in the bar all of the time, in fact, there are 33 minutes unaccounted.
Tara, who says the incident has left her distraught and fearing for her mental health, also revealed how despite the police investigating the incident which took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago O’Hare airport last month have closed the case, they have told her that it was because of lack of evidence – not because her drink wasn’t drugged.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, the American Pie star, pictured in 2022, also says that the CCTV from the night doesn’t show her in the bar all of the time
Tara said: ‘I am off camera many times and outside where there is no footage. The camera also skips five seconds, to 30 seconds or more many times and are missing key information of events.
‘I have all the available footage the police sent me. And after reviewing that entire footage you can clearly see I was completely fine when I arrived, ordered my glass of wine and left it on the bar to go smoke as I originally stated.
‘I was outside for around 10 mins off camera that time. Before I went to go smoke the second time I took my glass of wine with me outside. After reviewing the footage I only had consumed two glasses of wine the entire time since I got there over a 30-minute period before I went outside the second time and I came back in a completely different state of mind. And it is an undeniable difference.
‘They are making it seem like I chugged all this wine at once and ended up on a stretcher but after reviewing the footage that is not what happened at all.
‘In fact I witnessed in the footage when I arrived back from smoking with the person I only took one sip of wine in over 30 mins and when the bartender asked me if I wanted another drink I signalled no because I still had a drink I didn’t barely touch.’
The Daily Mail can reveal that a witness has now come forward which prompts questions over a YouTuber and influencer’s claims that Tara wanted to sleep with him.
Kathy Lain, a flight attendant and nurse was on a layover in Chicago at the Doubletree hotel when she saw the events unfold.
In a statement handed to the Daily Mail, Kathy said: ‘The man was leaning into the woman. The woman had difficulty holding her head up, and seemed almost out of it. She says to the man, “You want to f*** me.”
‘It was not a question, it was more a statement. The man responded with, “Maybe.” She then seemed concerned and asked the bartender to call security. The bartender asked her if she was serious and she indicated that she was.’

The police investigation is over, Tara confirmed but she did state that cops have left things open in case anything else comes to light.
A police officer from the Rosemont police department told her: ‘Just wanted to again reiterate that you know we’ve looked into everything that we can at the hotel and everything that happened that night, spoke to everyone that we can looked at any and all video that we can, and at this point, I don’t want to make it sound like we don’t think anything happened.
‘From everything that we’ve seen and everybody that we spoke to and all the video, there’s no evidence to support anything for us to charge somebody at this time.’
However the police tell Tara that if she had anything further to give them about the case they would follow up on it.
It has been quite the devastating time for Tara. She feels like she has been treated appallingly but is dealing with it slowly and reveals that she believes that it has now been proven by the camera footage from the hotel that she didn’t drink enough.
Tara also told of her upset that staff at the Resurrection Medical Center in Rosemont, Illinois did not give her blood or alcohol test. She is also furious that in the results which she was handed back this week, it was claimed that she screamed and shouted in her bed – and even fell off of it.
She told the Daily Mail: ‘I have also gotten the hospital results back and am very disappointed to find out the fact they didn’t give me a blood alcohol test or test me for any substances.
‘I was never even given an IV. I also read in the medical records that I was in such a bad state that I was screaming for help scared and didn’t know where I was and at around 3am I fell out of my hospital bed and they had to take me to get a CT scan.

‘I do not remember any this.’
Now, the actress just wants the truth out there as she is heartbroken at what she thinks are smears against her taking hold.
She also claims that she has been bullied because events of the night have been twisted.
‘I am making this statement to help people see the truth of what actually happened so they can understand the facts and how truly heartbreaking this is,’ she told the Daily Mail.
‘To imagine how terrifying it would be as a woman having some wine and then waking up in the hospital with no clothes on in a gown after 12 hours not having any idea of what happened to me only to see that videos of the state I was in are all over the world.
‘If you could watch the hour and 21 minutes of video you would understand something obviously wasn’t right.’
Tara is grateful though, grateful to the people who have supported her through this.
‘I want to say thank you to all the people who have had my back and have reached out to me with concern and want them to know how much that has saved me during this terrible time.
‘You are what has kept me going. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Please everyone, watch your drinks be aware of your surroundings and if you feel you have been drugged, do not be afraid to speak out.
‘Your truth is your truth. I am asking for support and privacy during this trying time in my life and most of all for understanding. I need to heal. Also, I have never publically accused or implicated anyone.
‘Because I do not remember the events it would be impossible for me to. And I would never want to falsely accuse anyone of something like this unless I absolutely knew which is why I filed the police report so maybe they could find some answers.
‘I have learned a lot from this and I hope that at the very least what comes out of this is to bring more awareness to this ongoing problem that happens to men and women across the world. And that everyone is a little more careful because of my experience. I truly hope my story can help save someone.’
