How Putin’s favourite propaganda-spewing pop star became ‘most hated woman in Russia’ over £1m scam

VLADIMIR Putin’s favourite pop star has become Russia’s public enemy number one – after the tyrant’s rigged courts bailed her out of a £1.6million scam and left a young mum homeless.

Larisa Dolina, 70, a staunch supporter of Putin’s war in Ukraine, was tricked into handing over proceeds from her luxury flat to fraudsters posing as Russian authorities last year.

The scandal, which has sparked national outrage in Russia over political cronyism, kicked off when Dolina was conned into believing “criminals” were coming to steal her assets.

Scammers posing as agents from Russia‘s security service (FSB) spent months convincing her to give over all her cash, belongings and property.

During this time, she even sold her lavish Moscow pad for £1million to a 34-year-old mum named Polina Lurye.

The Putin-loving star then handed over the money she made from the sale – plus an extra £600,000 – to the con artists, before realising she had been duped.

TYRANT’S FORTRESS

Putin has kept Moscow cocooned from his war – but now city faces carnage

In a desperate bid to reclaim her losses, Dolina begged a judge to let her keep the apartment she had just officially sold to Lurye – despite the sale having already been completed.

The Vlad-picked judge agreed, and authorities seized the £1million flat from Lurye and gave the keys back to Dolina – without returning the payment.

A Moscow court ruled that Lurye should get her lost funds back from the fraudsters – but gave no indication as to how she could do that.

Furious Russians have blasted the decision – one which has exposed Putin’s corrupt system and the favouring of political elites.

Russian politician Dmitry Svishchev called the saga a “national disaster”.

Kremlin crony Maria Zakharova claimed that Russia’s “enemies” were fuelling the flames of the drama in an attempt to “provoke a clash” and stir discontent.

But the controversial affair has become a rare flashpoint for anti-government sentiment in Putin’s regime – where criticism of the government is strictly forbidden.

Dolina even made a grovelling apology on national television last week.

Even Burger King has sanctioned the fallen idol, with the company refusing to deliver food to her address until she returns the money to young Lurye.

Dolina later made the baseless claim that the fraudsters were operating from Ukraine.

Her Instagram account was reportedly hacked to post pro-Ukrainian messages around the same time she made these allegations.

A Russian court backed Dolina’s bid to cancel the sale in March 2025 and recommended Lurye to seek compensation directly from the scammers.

An appeal was thrown out in November and the ruling was upheld.

The latest development came on Tuesday, when Russia’s supreme court said they recognised Lurye’s ownership of the property, but allowed her to keep living there until she is evicted by a lower court.

According to a survey of nearly 32,000 respondents, 95 per cent of Russians “condemned” Dolina.

IN a desperate ploy to lengthen his tyrannical reign, paranoid pariah Vladimir Putin is thrusting a wave of Kremlin-loving puppets into the limelight.

His army of propaganda-spewing celebrities are tirelessly defending Russia‘s war in Ukraine – despite one of them facing accusations of dressing like a Nazi.

One of Putin’s industry plants is pro-war pop star Yaroslav Dronov – better known by his stage name Shaman.

The shameless singer, 33, has performed for Russian troops in occupied parts of Ukraine and even appeared alongside Putin at public celebrations commemorating his war.

One song from his cringe-inducing catalogue was released on the eve of mad Vlad’s invasion in 2022.

Touting nationalistic lyrics about Russia‘s military, the song includes lines such as: “Remember all those who were lost in this fire, who were willing to die for freedom.”

Shaman tied the knot with Ekaterina Mizulina – head of Putin’s so-called Safe Internet League – in occupied Donetsk earlier this month.

Bizarre images showed the couple dressed in military-style khaki jackets during the eerie reception.

Mizulina – who is eight years older than her new hubby – is the daughter of infamous Putin-praising Senator Yelena Mizulina.

The nepo-baby – also nicknamed the “Queen of censorship” – is notorious for churning out hundreds of propaganda-packed warnings denouncing anti-war bloggers, journalists and musicians.

Those hit by Mizulina’s scathing complaints are often strongarmed into public apologies – and in some cases thrown behind bars.

John Foreman CBE branded the happy couple “symbols of the degenerate, corrupt, and fascist modern Russia”.

He told The Sun: “They wouldn’t be out of place in Berlin in the 1940s.”

A flurry of memes mocking the Putin boot-licker have also flooded Russian social media.

Popular Russian celebs have also chimed in, with actor Nikita Dzhigurda accusing Dolina of “robbing innocent people”.

The website The Bell branded her “the most hated woman in Russia”.

Dolina is a longtime pal of Putin, has performed for Russian soldiers in occupied Ukraine and has been sanctioned by Kyiv.

She butchered the national anthem alongside Putin at events celebrating the annexation of Crimea, and received a prestigious Order of Friendship award from Vlad in 2019.

Putin even praised her “generous, unique talent” in a soppy birthday message to Dolina posted to the Kremlin’s website in September.
