STRICTLY’S Tess and Claudia were left in tears as judges gave an emotional tribute ahead of their final show and exit.
Tess and Claudia announced in October that they would both leave the show at the end of this series.
During tonight’s semi-final results the judges called for Tess to come immediately up to them and sit beside Claudia.
“What’s happening?” questioned Claudia as Tess climbed the stairs.
Once the shocked hosts were sat together, Craig said: “We just went to tell you both how much we are going to miss you.
“How much we totally and utterly love you to bits.
“We have been working together on the show for 21 years, looking fabulous.
“And we’ve got a little surprise for you – a little VT darling.”
The montage showed a range of scenes from the show, over the years, as the judges spoke about how great the TV hosts were.
Showing a clip of Tess with Bruce Forsyth, Shirley said: “She’s done it since 2004 all the while raising a remarkable family.”
While Craig spoke about how goofy and wild Claudia was on the spin-off show It Takes Two.
“Between the two of them, they are magic,” said Shirley.
While Anton joked: “None of them have learned a step of dancing.”
Craig then chimed in: “I know one thing, without a doubt, they will keep dancing… badly.”
Strictly professional Kai Widdrington then gifted the pair their very own gold glitterball trophies.
Tess and Claudia were overcome by emotion, as Claudia said: “We love you, we’re so lucky. It’s been an honour!”
While Tess added: “You guys are like family to us, and we’re always think that about you all. We’ve had the most amazing time.”
Viewers were also left teary eyed and one fan wrote on social media: “It just hit me that this is Tess and Claudia’s last results show.“
Another said: “Lock the doors!!! don’t let them leave!”
“Our last result show with Tess and Claudia,” said a third as they added a crying emoji.
While a fourth declared: “Last dance off of series which means It’s Tess & Claudia’s last dance off as hosts End of an era.”
“This is making me emotional #strictly won’t be the same next year without Tess and Claudia going to miss this partnership so much,” said another sad fan.
But it’s not the last of the Strictly hosts – just yet – as Tess and Claudia will perform a farewell dance together during the Christmas Day special — the final time they will be seen on the show.
They will take part in a routine alongside the professionals as they say goodbye after co-hosting the main show for the past 11 years.
