NIGEL Farage vows to end the “Whitehall bloat” in a radical shake-up saving taxpayers £5 billion.
The Reform UK leader today promises to slash 68,000 civil service jobs to make the government leaner and better-performing if he enters office.

He will also increase the pay-related bonus pot for mandarins up to £750 million to incentivise workers.
A document on the changes reveals that “not a single penny of public money will be wasted” under the plans.
Mr Farage last night said: “This is a radical plan to modernise, streamline and incentivise the civil service.
“Giving huge benefits to the public finances and the operational effectivness of those overseeing our vital public services.”
The party will be waging war with the unions over such a move.
The Public and Commercial Services Union has said that the public wants a civil service that “gives value for money and gets the job done properly”.
Reform UK first announced a major review back in October of the civil service as its size had increased by a third over the past ten years to 540,000 staff.
Closing government office buildings in the capital when leases come to an end could also save £100 million per year.
Under the new plans, the Treasury will save £5.2 billion once the headcount is reduced and fully implemented over two years.
There will be reduction in civil service numbers by 13.6 per cent and staffing costs will come down by 17.4 per cent.
The party will reduce human resources staff by 67 per cent, policy figures by 50 per cent and communications workers by 60 per cent.
Out of the total savings, between £500 and £750 million will be earmarked for the civil service bonus pool.
The incentives will ensure that the finest workers are attracted to the civil service coupled with the best-performing public servants being given further incentives.
Reform also says there will be a move away from promotions based on length of service.
They also say there will be less time for diversity roles and more focus on promotions based on merit.
