Sainsbury’s has urged customers to open the Nectar app and tap into the “Count Up to Christmas Points Boost”, which runs until December 16, 2025.

Anyone who joins the promotion and completes all five personalised tasks before the deadline will see the full 1,000 points land straight into their account in time for Christmas.

The tasks will often relate to your spending in Sainsbury’s, and involve spending thresholds for groceries or fuel.

To avail of the Nectar offer, you must use the rewards program in the same transaction in store or linked to your Sainsbury’s online account at the time of transaction.

Anyone not already signed up can get started instantly by downloading the Nectar app or registering in store.

Shoppers earn one Nectar point for every £1 they spend at Sainsbury’s and one point for every litre of fuel bought at Sainsbury’s petrol stations.

You can also collect points with other partners like Esso and eBay.

Each point is worth 0.5p, so 500 points will give you £2.50 off.

As a Nectar member, you also get access to Nectar Prices, offering discounts on selected products.

And with Christmas just weeks away, the supermarket’s points boost can provide festive lifeline for budget-conscious families, ensuring the big food shop stings a little less.

You can learn more about the Nectar rewards scheme on the Sainsbury’s website.
