Crystal Palace left stranded in Dublin after ‘issues with the plane’ following Conference League win over Shelbourne

CRYSTAL PALACE found themselves stuck in Dublin due to “some issues” with the plane after their Conference League win over Shelbourne.

Palace defeated the Irish giants 3-0 on Thursday at the Tallaght Stadium thanks to goals by Cristantus Uche, Eddie Nketiah and Yeremy Pino.

However, the Eagles’ manager Oliver Glasner revealed the team couldn’t fly back to London after the game.

Therefore, Glasner’s side had to spend the night in Ireland at a “nice hotel.”

The Austrian tactician confirmed the next training session will only be consisted of players who didn’t get many minutes against Shelbourne.

Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr will also take part in the next session as they weren’t included in the squad that flew to Ireland.

Glasner said: “We couldn’t go home after the game – some issues with the plane.

“We stayed here in a nice hotel.

“We’ll train after arrival with the players who didn’t play many minutes yesterday, plus JP [Mateta] and Ismaila [Sarr].”

Palace are now ninth in the league phase table of the Conference League.

The Eagles are only one point away from the top eight, which leads straight into the competition’s Last 16.

Palace are back in action on Sunday in the Premier League.

Glasner’s side host Manchester City at Selhurst Park for a crunch clash.
