Aitch admits he broke ITV bosses’ strict rule before I’m A Celeb jungle and AngryGinge’s win

AITCH has revealed he broke I’m A Celeb rules even before stepping foot in camp.

The rapper, who was evicted just before the final, said he and campmate AngryGinge knew they were both doing the show together.

Aitch, 25, confessed that he spoke to AngryGinge a few days before the show kicked off and discussed how they would approach jungle life.

He said he found out Ginge was going into the jungle through a mutual friend, which prompted him to reach out to the content creator.

He said: “We spoke a couple days beforehand saying ‘Are you ready for this? Yeah, let’s go. Let’s go’.”

The Bamba hitmaker insisted that the crown was always going to come back to Manchester, one way or the other.

“I said ‘right, if you don’t win, I need to win, and if I don’t win, you need to win.

“Either way, we need to take this crown back to Manchester somehow,” he told the Mirror.

The celebrities are usually isolated before the show and have their phones confiscated to prevent any pre-show communication.

But Aitch appears to have broken the rules before flying out to Australia.

On Sunday’s final, Manchester-based YouTuber AngryGinge was crowned the King of the Jungle, beating fellow finalists Tom Read Wilson and Shona McGarty.

And now, it has been revealed that Ginge was miles ahead of his campmates when it came to the public vote.

Shona, 34, was the first to leave the final in third place, after she won just 22% of the public vote – as opposed to 25% for Tom and 53% for Ginge.

With just Tom, 39, and Ginge remaining, the vote re-opened and saw Ginge nab the win.

He received a whopping 65% of votes, with Tom achieving 35% of the public’s backing.

Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, has an impressive 1.9 million followers on Instagram, compared to EastEnders star Shona’s 610K followers and Celebs Go Dating star Tom’s 1.1 million followers.

Winner Ginge is thought to have banked around £100K for his appearance on the show, and likely has plenty more opportunities in the pipeline after the win.

After he was crowned King Of The Jungle by hosts Ant and Dec, Ginge held his head in his hands in an emotional moment.

He said: “I don’t think I can swear, but I feel amazing.

“Honestly, a dream come true. I didn’t think I could go all this way never mind win. Thank you to everyone who voted.”

He earlier said of the experience: “It was a lot harder than I thought it’d be. I’d reached out to people before I went in to get some advice, but nobody warned me about what I was about to go through. No one said it was going to be that hard.”

“That was the hardest thing I’ve ever done and was a real mental test,” he added to Ant and Dec.

“There were so many times I wanted to throw the towel in.”

LOVE NOT ON THE CARDS

Elsewhere, any hopes of a romance between Aitch and EastEnders’ Shona has been dashed after he insisted she is “just a good friend”.

The pair had raised hopes of a jungle love story earlier in the series after rapper Aitch said he had a “soft spot” for the actress.

Mancunian Aitch, real name Harrison Armstrong, told The Sun: “I’ve just heard it five minutes ago!

“No, Shona’s just a cool person. I feel like me and Shona are just cut from the same cloth in a way. We just have the same sense of humour.

“Obviously I’ve not watched the show, so I don’t know what’s been put out there in any way – but it was nothing like that.

“I just think we had a bond over a bit of a music thing – me knowing that she’s trying to come out of the jungle and pursue this music career, me having a music career.

“It was just more like there’s only really me and Martin (Kemp) she can speak to about certain things.

“I think just because of my age… no one’s going to say that she had a romance with Martin, because Martin’s married.

“So unfortunately I’m the next option.”
