Vicky Pattison admits Strictly exit left her in tears as she struggled to get over axe for a WEEK

VICKY Pattison has admitted she was left sad about her Strictly exit for a week – and “couldn’t snap out” of her feelings of disappointment.

The programme’s fan favourite, 38, was eliminated last month after she was forced to lock horns with show BFF Balvinder Sopal in a tense Dance Off.

Former I’m A Celeb champ Vicky was booted out of the iconic BBC series on her 38th birthday – after landing at the bottom of the leaderboard.

Balvinder, 46, and Julian, 30, performed their American smooth to My Guy by Mary Wells before Vicky and Kai, 30, jived to Sound Of The Underground by Girls Aloud.

Judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all decided to save Sopal and Caillon, and Craig Revel Horwood, who had the casting vote, said he would have done the same.

In the latest episode of Pete’s Staying Relevant podcast, which was recorded two weeks after her exit, the Geordie Shore alum candidly opened up.

STRICTLY NO RINGERS

Her best pal Pete, 37, addressed listeners and said: “Let me just give you a back-story to this, Vic has wanted to do this show for as long as I can remember.

“To the point you had mood boards or vision boards to do Strictly and I’ve never seen anyone so happy when you actually got the f**king gig.”

He continued: “Can I just say before we get into this, you were f**king incredible, like genuinely.”

Pete told how he called her the morning after her show exit and was met by blubbering, and added: “I couldn’t understand a f**king word she was saying.

“Have you recovered?”

Vicky said: “Yes, I have,” yet then admitted: “It wasn’t easy.”

She explained she “didn’t like being sad” and added: “Being sad when I have a nice life and a lovely husband and great friends and a job I love and two gorgeous dogs seemed like wasted energy.

“But I couldn’t snap out of it.

“I was sad for about a week and I think, I was speaking to everyone, like you, Sara Davies rang us, Ellie Taylor, Tom Fletcher rang us, I had such a lovely support structure.”

All your Strictly Come Dancing winners

Strictly first kicked off back in 2004, and over the years has crowned 21 winners.

Pete interjected: “People who have been there and have done the show,” as she added: “People who understand.

“My main question to everyone was ‘how long am I going to be sad for?’”

She was told by someone that they were sad for a year, to which she said: “No I’m sorry, I’m not going to be sad for a year.

“I went on Strictly and had never danced sober, and I gave it everything I could.”

Vicky added: “I’m not going to be sad about trying my best.”

SHOW EXIT

Vicky’s Strictly exit came after she had topped the leaderboard the week prior.

At the time, Vicky said: “It was so lovely while it lasted and I’ve had the nicest time.

“I knew this week was a difficult one for me and I tried my hardest, as I have every week.

“Listen, I didn’t think I’d get past week one. And I’m really honoured to have shared this experience with so many amazing people.

“Mostly with this fella right here.

“I don’t want to sound too cheesy but you’ve been the best partner a girl can ask for.

“I’m so sorry I didn’t get you to Blackpool but I feel like I’ve won just by having you as my partner and I’m so grateful.”

Kai added: “Oh, goodness me. Where do I start?

“You are everything that this series is about. Strong, confident, independent – and all that I can say is, I have loved every single second.

“I’m going to be gutted not coming to Blackpool with you on Monday.

“But I just want you to know that I feel like I have also won getting you as my partner, and you will live on in Strictly history forever.”
