MEGHAN Markle’s dad wants to meet Harry and his grandchildren after he claimed the Duchess didn’t message him after his health scare
Thomas Markle issued the desperate plea to Meghan after he had his leg amputated in life-saving surgery.
The 81-year-old appealed to his daughter to “see him one more time before I die”, MailOnline reports.
Thomas has never met Meghan’s children, Archie and Lilibet and he told the outlet he wanted to meet them and his son-in-law, Prince Harry, “before it’s too late”.
But he denied that his daughter had got in touch after his surgery.
The Sun reported yesterday that Meghan had reached out to her estranged father after he was rushed to hospital at home in the Phillipines – the pair haven’t spoken since 2018.
The Duchess’ spokesperson said: “I can confirm she has reached out to her father.”
It comes as Thomas, 81, underwent life-saving treatment after his left leg was amputated below the knee.
He was rushed to hospital in the Philippines on Tuesday after falling ill at home, with doctors later warning his condition was critical.
Thomas has faced a series of health problems in recent years, including a stroke.
He had been living in Mexico for a decade before relocating to the Philippines in January.
He and Meghan have been estranged since her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.
Thomas suffered two heart attacks ahead of the ceremony and did not walk his daughter down the aisle, with the then Prince Charles stepping in.
The rift deepened following a paparazzi photo scandal and a heated phone call while Thomas was recovering in hospital.
He later told The Sun on Sunday: “I felt disrespected by them. I was recovering from a heart attack, lying in a bed, having a phone call, and the things were being said that hurt me.
“I felt like I was being blamed for my mistakes when I was in my hospital bed recovering from a heart attack.”
Recent concerns for Thomas’s wellbeing surfaced months earlier when Samantha claimed he was stranded on the 19th floor of his Philippines apartment after a 6.9-magnitude earthquake.
