A JLS star has issued fans with a health update from his hospital bed after undergoing an operation.
Aston Merrygold, 37, who has been part of the chart-topping group since 2007, shared sweet snaps with his wife Sarah-Louise Richards and their three children as he went under the knife for a painful injury.
The singer took to Instagram to thank everyone who extended their “love and support” to him, as he prepares to take some downtime with family while he recovers.
Sharing a series of pics from hospital, Aston wrote: “Done, done & done!
“Thanks for all the love and support everyone..
“Thankfully everything went to plan in surgery [prayer emoji].
“Shout out to the incredible Dr’s, nurses and staff at the hospital!!
“I’m home with my favourites so the rest and recovery starts now [heart and leg emoji]”.
Aston is seen with his thumbs up and smiling at the camera while wearing a hospital gown and wired up to machines – with his ward grub placed on a trey for him.
He shared a loved-up selfie with wife Sarah-Louise among the selection of snaps, including a sweet family picture with his three children Grayson Jax, Macauley Shay and Riley Skye, posing together in the singer’s hospital bed.
Bandmate and close pal Marvin Humes commented: “My guy! Over the moon everything went well [blue heart emoji]”.
Marvin’s wife, former Saturdays member Rochelle Humes, left three prayer emojis for the star.
While chart-topper Example simply shared a raised hands emoji in the comments section.
It comes as Aston revealed last month that he would be forced to undergo surgery for a painful injury.
The singer explained the situation via Instagram last month, where he also shared snaps of himself on crutches and wearing an ankle boot.
“So, I had a bit of an accident on an injury,” Aston revealed.
“Basically it requires surgery. So they’ve given me these really cool crutches.”
The star’s wife, Sarah-Louise, praised her husband for being a ‘warrior’.
In an Instagram post, she penned: “Someone said to me today your husband’s a warrior and they are actually right!
“The last few weeks have been tough for you both physically and mentally but you kept pushing on, kept going again to do your very best and to not let anyone down.
“Today we found out the road to recovery is going to be a bit longer than expected which sucks but I’ve got you, we’ve got you and we promise to do our very best to support you.
She added: “I love you so much, wish I could squeeze you right now! Instead you’re in our city, the city we said I Do and you’re giving it your all as that’s all you know how to do!
“And btw you absolutely smash a show on crutches! Just saying. I’m so proud of you my baby, I’ve got you.”
They first shot to fame when they appeared on The X Factor in 2008.
They made it to the final and just missed out on winning the show to Alexandra Burke.
But they still went on to score five number singles and and six top ten albums during their time together.
After splitting in 2013 the boys first got back together to announce a reunion tour in 2019, with it taking place in 2021.
Last year JB took part in Strictly Come Dancing while Marvin starred on I’m a Celebrity in 2023.
