MANCHESTER UNITED hero Javier Hernandez missed a crucial penalty for boyhood club Guadalajara, which leaves his future in doubt.
Hernandez, 37, was tasked with the Mexican giants’ late pen in the crunch Liga MX quarter-final second-leg at Cruz Azul with the score at 2-2 on 86 minutes.

However, the striker blazed his shot way over the crossbar to waste a massive opportunity for a semi-final qualification.
Guadalajara went on to lose 3-2 to Cruz Azul as Carlos Rodriguez’s last-gasp winner in the seventh minute of stoppage time ended their season.
Chicharito’s contract runs out on December 31 and there is no indication as to what he will do next amid speculation he could retire.
That means his last act on the pitch may have been his penalty miss for his hometown club.
Hernandez joined Guadalajara in 1997 at the age of nine and received his senior call-up in 2006 to spend four years with the club until his move to United.
The forward went on to amass a total of 59 goals and 16 assists in 157 appearances with Man Utd.
The Mexican star was sent out on loan to Real Madrid in 2014 where he registered nine goals and nine assists in 33 appearances.
Chicharito left the Red Devils in 2015, shortly after his temporary spell at Real.

Hernandez then played for the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham, Sevilla and LA Galaxy.
That was until he returned to Guadalajara in 2024 and has since notched 33 goals and 10 assists in 119 appearances across both stints.
