LUKE LITTLER reckons he’s boosted Manchester United’s chances of signing Antoine Semenyo in January.
United will be short of attacking firepower when Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo head to the Africa Cup of Nations.
Semenyo would have joined them under normal circumstances but Ghana failed to quality for this year’s tournament.
The 25-year-old has six goals and three assists in 11 Premier League matches for Bournemouth this season.
And top clubs have been put on high alert by the £65million release clause in the contract he signed in July.
Many United supporters are pointing to Semenyo as the ideal solution to their attacking dilemma.
Reigning world darts champion and outspoken Red Devils fan Littler is among them, sharing a Semenyo goals compilation to his Instagram story on Friday night titled: “The solution to our AFCON worries?”
Littler also wrote the caption: “Activate the release clause reds [wink emoji]. Gonna miss Amad and Mbeumo massively.”
Just a couple of hours later, ‘The Nuke’ posted a screenshot of Semenyo following him on Instagram.
Littler wrote: “Step one [tick emoji]. I’ve done my job now it’s down to you reds.”

United are among a host of heavyweight teams keeping a close eye on Semenyo ahead of the January transfer window.
Liverpool are also rumoured to be keen on the Ghanaian as a long-term replacement for the ageing Mohamed Salah.
But with Manchester City in the mix and hoping to join the race next summer, it’s anyone’s guess where Semenyo will end up.
Like Semenyo, Littler has established himself as an irresistible force this year.
He won the World Darts Championship in January and will head to the Ally Pally to try and regain his crown in red-hot form, having won the World Grand Prix, the Grand Slam of Darts and the Players Championship Finals to cement his spot at the top of the world rankings.
