JESS Glynne has revealed the heartbreaking reason she was unable to greet Alex Scott after she was voted out of the iconic jungle.
Alex Scott was the first star to be evicted from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Friday, with the sports star seen walking across the bridge on her own after her chat with Ant and Dec.
She said goodbye to the other 11 celebs and was reunited with a friend on the famous bridge, rather than her girlfriend.
Her girlfriend Jess Glynne did not make it out to Australia due to a heartbreaking reason, which has now been revealed.
Taking to her Instagram stories last night, in the aftermath of Alex’s axe from the show, Jess shared a heartbreaking message with her fans.
“I know people will wonder why I wasn’t there at the end of the bridge, so I wanted to share something personal.

“Over the last few weeks, my mum suffered a stroke and needed urgent brain surgery.
“It’s been a really serious, life-altering time for my family, and I’ve had to stay close to home,” Jess penned.
She concluded: “Alex would always want me to be where I’m needed most.
“I can’t wait to have her back by my side.”
Elsewhere in the statement, Jess opened up about Alex’s eviction from the jungle.
“My woman might be out far earlier than she ever deserved, but I’m so unbelievably proud of her,” she penned.
Jess added: “She didn’t get the airtime to show how incredible she really is, and trust me, this is only the beginning.”
Alex and Jess have been in a relationship since the summer of 2023, meaning they have been together for over two years.
They first met at an event in May 2023 before spending time with one another that summer, including at Wimbledon that July.
heir relationship was not publicly confirmed until October 2023.
Sports star Alex survived 14 days in the I’m a Celebrity jungle this year before falling short in the public vote.
Reacting to the news she was going home on Friday night, Alex said: “Oh my days. It’s like being free.”
After leaving camp and meeting Ant and Dec, she added: “It feels strange, it doesn’t feel real.
“It’s been such an incredible experience, mentally it’s so tough and I did struggle at times missing home.”
“But I’m so glad I got to do this series with such a great bunch of campmates.
“The laughter the humour with everyone bouncing off each other we really connected and I wasn’t expecting that coming into the jungle.”
