WONDERKID Cristian Orozco is set to fly to the UK in the next couple of days to complete his switch to Manchester United, reports suggest.
Red Devils transfer chief Jason Wilcox has swooped for the 17-year-old defensive midfielder as part of an aggressive recruitment drive for overseas talent.
Orozco only joined his current club, Fortaleza, in the summer.
However, United have moved quickly to secure a deal for the Colombia youth international – capped 13 times by his country at that level.
Orozco is scheduled to officially move to Old Trafford next year after he turns 18 in July.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the teen will be in the UK in the coming days to put pen to paper on the deal.
It is also reported United will pay £755,000 ($1million).
However, given the team’s struggles in midfield this season, excited fans have asked whether he can arrive any sooner to help out.
One said on Instagram: “Why can’t we get him sooner we are struggling with half a midfield every week.”
A second said: “Young general.”

United were previously deep in talks to sign Moises Caicedo from Independiente del Valle in January 2021, but backed off due to interference from various agents.
Caicedo’s asking price of £5.5m was also viewed as too steep before he would eventually join Chelsea from Brighton for a then-British transfer record fee of £115m.
