‘Surely void’ – Women’s League Cup draw fix fears as I’m A Celeb star picks ball out and puts it back in bag

THE Subway Women’s League Cup quarter-final and semi-final draw descended into chaos when a social media star accidentally sparked “fix” claims.

However, viewers were left stunned when Barry appeared to pick out a numbered ball before accidentally putting it back into the bag while determining the first of two semi-finals.

After realising what she had done, she laughed it off before saying: “Am I allowed to do that? I’ve done it now, it’s too late.”

Barry then pulled the same number out before adding: “Oh I picked up the same ball.”

An official adjudicator was present at the draw – which was only streamed live on TikTok – and confirmed that because the same ball was picked, it did not impact the overall outcome and therefore the process remained valid.

Despite the assurance from officials, many fans have questioned the validity of the draw.

One person took to X to write: “Surely it’s void.”

Another commented: “Blatant cheating I guess.”

While a third said: “Embarrassing, start to finish.”

It has also been reported the WSL had to apologise to Tottenham after GK Barry joked: “What do we think of Tottenham?” – in reference to an anti-Spurs chant.

SunSport has approached the WSL for comment.

The social media star also repeatedly joked that she did not know how the process worked, questioned how good teams were and asked what colour Liverpool and Chelsea play in.

Tottenham were drawn against Manchester United in the quarter-finals, with north London rivals Arsenal set to face Crystal Palace.

Liverpool will take on reigning champions Chelsea, while Manchester City travel to West Ham.
