Premier Inn Mattress review: Get 10% off hotel-grade mattresses and beds

EVER sunk into a hotel bed and thought, “I wish I could take this mattress home with me”?

Well, now you can — and I’ve done a Premier Inn mattress review to see whether it’s worth the money.

The Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 is deeply padded and infused with Geltex technology

Premier Inn Mattress 2.0, from £609

That signature feeling of drifting off on a plush hotel mattress is something we all crave, and Premier Inn has made it possible by teaming up with Silentnight, one of the UK’s most trusted sleep brands, to bring its famous mattress directly to your bedroom.

Since launching its at-home range, these hotel-identical mattresses have racked up over 4,000 five-star reviews, with happy customers raving about “the best night’s sleep ever” and wishing they’d “bought it sooner.”

But does it really deliver that hotel-quality slumber we all remember from our getaways?

I’ve put the Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 to the test to find out if it lives up to the hype — and whether it deserves a spot in your bedroom.

How I tested the Premier Inn Mattress 2.0

With a depth of 28.5cm, it certainly feels like value for money

Premier Inn Mattress 2.0, from £609 £548

Sleep is extremely important to me — as it is to everyone — and I’ve tried and tested many products to enhance the experience, from mattress protectors to sachets of herbal tea.

And working at Sun Shopping, where we cover a wide variety of sleep-enhancing products (including the best pillows, the best mattresses and even Simba slippers designed to improve your sleep), I keep a keen eye on the tools you can equip yourself with to improve your slumber.

Having just gotten rid of a 15-year-old mattress, I wanted to ensure I tested the Premier Inn mattress for long enough to overcome the initial thrill of a new one. (However, there’s no denying the difference was astronomical.)

I tested it out for a month, using different bedding and sheets, and enjoyed both long Sunday lie-ins and early nights.

Premier Inn Mattress review: Quickfire Q&A

How much is the Premier Inn Mattress 2.0? It’s £749 for a double and £799 for a king. The cheapest option, a single, is £609. However, the brand is currently offering 10% off beds and mattresses as well as two free pillows.

Who’s it best for? It’s suitable for a range of sleepers. If you feel the cold or overheat, you’ll benefit from its high-tech temperature regulation, and its Geltex layer is great for restless sleepers who also want firm support.

How firm is the Premier Inn Mattress? The Premier Inn Mattress offers that sweet spot of medium-firm support that many sleepers crave. Not too soft, not too hard — it’s got that Goldilocks feel, thanks to its clever zoned system, which provides extra support exactly where you need it.

What we loved: It’s excellent value for money. You can feel the science that has gone into the mattress, and it doesn’t feel any different than a night at a hotel due to its grandness and height.

What we didn’t: While I think it’s worth it, there’s no denying the price point is on the steeper side, especially if you’re looking to overhaul your entire setup (bed, headboard, mattress, etc.).

Premier Inn Mattress 2.0: The Nitty Gritty

First impressions

Unlike rolled “bed in a box” mattresses, the Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 is delivered flat in one thick layer of protective plastic, ready for immediate use.

The delivery process is hassle-free — the delivery drivers carry it to your chosen room at no additional cost.

The mattress is big and bulky, requiring two pairs of hands to move, but two handles on each side aid manoeuvrability.

The handles aid future movement, such as mattress flipping

Once the mattress was set up, I threw myself onto it for a lie down, and the first thing I noticed was the level of support it offers.

I like to spread out and wriggle about through the night, and the layering of the bed allowed for this.

Ergonomically, the mattress boasts seven specially crafted layers which work together to provide comfort, moisture-wicking properties, breathability, temperature regulation, support, and anti-bedbug treatment.

The double also feels larger than a standard double due to its edge-to-edge support, making it perfect for sprawling out and rolling over at night.

PREMIER INN BEDDING DEAL: GET 10% OFF LUXURY BUNDLES

The brand is currently offering 10% off luxury bedding by purchasing a bundle instead of buying items individually which includes:

  • A choice of soft or firm pillow
  • An ultimate comfort duvet with a choice of tog
  • A luxuriously quilted mattress protector

Find out more here.

Does it deliver?

Overall, the mattress delivered on its promise, providing a good night’s sleep, and it feels extremely high-quality.

You can feel all of the different parts working together, whether it’s temperature regulation or firm but mild support when turning over in the night.

The mattress offers height, sturdiness and temperature regulation features

As the weather is now on the turn, I slept some nights with a duvet and others just a thick fleece sheet, and noticed the temperature regulation hard at work.

I struggled to find a fault with it that went beyond the difficulty of moving the mattress alone (which is always hard for someone of five feet nothing).

Everything else really did replicate a hotel-level of comfort and luxury, and I’ve found myself gravitating towards it for waking activities, such as working or reading.

Build your own Premier Inn bed

If you’re looking to go the whole hog and upgrade your whole set up, you can use the ‘Build your own Premier Inn bed’ feature.

You will be prompted to choose:

  • Size: Choose from a single to a super king
  • Storage: Choose between no storage, two drawers, an ottoman or half an ottoman and two drawers
  • Headboard: Choose between four different styles
  • Mattress: Choose the yes or no option

The prices range from £280 to £2,449, depending on which styles and modifications you make.

Build your bed here.

I also found that where I usually opt for a chunky mattress topper for extra comfort and support, I haven’t needed that, as the padded design creates a cradling comfort.

It delivers by suiting a range of different sleepers, as there is firm support for wrigglers but also a level of comfort for those who like to feel the softness of a mattress.

The temperature regulation is ideal for those who run hot in their sleep or who get chilly in the night, and the wide edge-to-edge design means you can starfish to your heart’s content without disturbing a partner in the process.

Premier Inn Mattress 2.0, from £609 £548

The Premier Inn Mattress 2.0 is available for purchase on the Premier Inn Bed website.

Premier Inn offers a free mattress removal service, free delivery, and a 6-year warranty.

Premier Inn Mattress alternatives

If you’re after something similar to the Premier Inn’s pocket-sprung hybrid design, the Silentnight Mirapocket 1000 is worth considering.

It features the same trusted manufacturer but comes with a significantly lower price tag — perfect if you love the Premier Inn feel but not the Premier Inn price.

The Happy Beds Signature 2000 is another fantastic option, around £300 cheaper than the Premier Inn mattress, while still offering impressive comfort and support.

For those seeking eco-friendly options, natural latex alternatives like PlushBeds, Avocado Green, and Zenhaven offer comparable comfort levels.

The verdict: Premier Inn Mattress 2.0

The Premier Inn Mattress has given me a genuinely cracking nights sleep.

I’ve forgotten what sleep was like — I no longer wake up uncomfortable or hot in the middle of the night, which has improved my well-being as a result.

You can’t put a price on a good night’s sleep, and out of all of the sleep products I have tried, this one truly is a game changer.

I would recommend this product to anyone in need of a mattress upgrade or a complete overhaul of their sleep experience.
