Danny Dyer takes a swipe at I’m A Celeb’s Joel Dommett in surprising new celeb feud

DANNY Dyer has taken a swipe at I’m A Celeb’s Joel Dommett, which has sparked a surprising new celebrity feud.

The former EastEnders actor, 48, was hosting the ZYN Rolling Stone UK Awards at London’s iconic Roundhouse venue when he made a telling comment.

When Danny introduced Mo Gilligan to the stage, he took a veiled dig at The Masked Singer host Joel.

Complimenting Mo, Danny insulted Joel in the process.

“I mean, he’s funnier than Joel Dommett, I’ll tell you that now,” Danny quipped while introducing Mo to the stage.

Joel has yet to respond to the swipe.

The Masked Singer host is currently in Australia for his hosting duties of spin-off show I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp.

Joel previously appeared as a contestant on the main show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2016.

Danny and Joel previously appeared on The One Show together in 2023.

The two men have also attended the same events as one another.

Danny has attended the National Television Awards which Joel presents.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Danny has feuded with a fellow celebrity.

Danny previously feuded with TOWIE star Mark Wright.

The two men began quarrelling back in 2013, when Danny slammed Mark for being “arrogant”.

Things were then said to have gotten physical at a charity football game.

In a 2023 interview, Danny said: “I got mistaken for Mark Wright once. In a café. It put me right off my beans.

“I don’t know him, but he’s everything I hate about this whole celebrity world.

“It’s mainly because of some of his quotes saying he wants to be the next James Bond. If he’s the next James Bond, it’s over for me. It’s the arrogance of it all — it irritates me.”

He added: “Mark’s not up my street. He’ll never be a mate of mine. Good luck to him, just stay away from me.”

Years later, during a charity football match, the fallout turned physical after Mark slapped Danny in a changing room.

The ugly altercation was made public by Mark’s brother Josh, who reacted to Danny having a fresh pop at the ex-Towie star, who is also a DJ on HeartFM and appeared in adverts for a yoghurt brand.

Writing on Twitter, he joked: “My worst nightmare would be listening to Heart FM while eating an Oykos yoghurt. It would be like p***ing razor blades.”

Ex-footballer Josh replied: “You must still be hurting from when Mark gave you a slap in the changing room that day. Get over it you melt.”

It was previously revealed that Danny would not go into the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

His daughter, Love Island star Dani Dyer, previously revealed why her actor father would “never” appear on the show.

Dani, who won Love Island in 2018, admitted the Mick Carter actor has no plans to follow in her reality show footsteps.

She previously told MailOnline: “I would like to see him in the I’m A Celeb jungle but he says he never would go in the jungle.

“He was like, ‘Dan, I’d be bored.’

“He’d be snoring everyone to death,” she added.

But despite this, Danny is keen to join for the 2026 season of Celebrity Traitors.

Talking on the Live and Let Dyer podcast last month, he said: “I’m into it – they did sniff round me about it, I’d never seen it so it was a ‘no’ from me because for one I hadn’t seen it but now I’m into it…if you’re going to do it, if your famous, it needs to be an indulgence project, you have to love the game.

“It’s quite a simple game, I thought it was too complicated.. but it’s actually just about people manipulating people and a lot of lyin.

“If you’re a faithful it’s hard – you’re trying to over act that you’re a faithful and it backfires on you but yeah it’s a good line-up and I’m enjoying it.

“So if the money’s right… because I might get involved in the next series. I think I’d want to be a Traitor, there’s triple bluffs, double bluffs – it’s more fun to be a Traitor, you’ve got a job!”
