
COPS have released an image in the hunt for a man after woman was allegedly sexually assaulted on a busy train.
A probe has been launched after the victim was reportedly assaulted moments after boarding the train at Duffield, Derbyshire.
The young woman was said to have passed a group of three people as she walked through the carriage at around 4.45pm on September 30.
British Transport Police said one man in the group had sexually assaulted the victim and made an “inappropriate” comment.
The man then got off the train at Nottingham train station.
The force said: “Detectives investigating a sexual assault on board a train from Matlock to Nottingham have released this image in connection.
“On Tuesday 30 September at around 4.45pm, a woman boarded the train at Duffield railway station.
“As she walked through the carriage, she passed a group of three people.
“A man in the group has sexually assaulted the young woman and made an inappropriate comment.
“The man left the service at Nottingham railway station.
“Anyone who recognises him or has information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016.”
BTP also called on anyone with information to call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 517 of 30 September.
