THE Strictly stars’ annual Blackpool party was cancelled for a second year in a row amid a series of scandals.
Several of the cast and crew decided to leave as soon as Saturday night’s recording finished to avoid further drama.
The episode is the jewel in the series and was typically followed by a knees-up for the stars and the team backstage.
But nothing was put on following several controversies.
The Sun reported last week an unnamed Strictly star was arrested in October on suspicion of raping a woman following a BBC event last year.
Shortly after filming finished in Blackpool, pros Vito Coppola, 33, and Dianne Buswell, 36, were among those who drove straight back to London.
A source said: “The stars of this year’s show don’t want to be in a position where they could be linked to any wrongdoing.
“There’s a feeling that if people are in the wrong place at the wrong time, it could reflect very badly on them.”
Some settled in for drinks at the bar of their Holiday Inn.
But judge Craig Revel Horwood, 60, and contestant Lewis Cope, 30. met up with comedy star Paul Chuckle and his niece and nephew, Gogglebox regulars Sophie and Pete Sandiford.
Ex-Emmerdale actor Lewis had topped the leaderboard.
