THIS is the startling moment an “idiot” delivery driver is caught on camera riding down the motorway on an e-scooter

The clip shows a large Royal Mail lorry being forced to slow down on the M6 near Birmingham before overtaking the bike as it trundles along in the slow lane.

The driver of the e-bike can be seen with his hood up and was caught in mobile phone footage which was posted on Facebook just after 7pm on November 21.

It is illegal for e-bikes to be used on motorways, according to the Highway Code.

They are allowed on other roads as long as they meet specific requirements and their top speed does not exceed 15.5mph.

The West Midlands Police have been informed of the incident, according to Birmingham Live.
