STORMZY has been left devastated following the death of his beloved Rottweiler Enzo, seven years after he purchased the protection dog for him and ex Maya Jama.
The rapper shared several heartfelt videos of himself with Enzo – also known as Enz – and he paid tribute to the pet in a post on Instagram.
He said: “RIP my no.1 boy.
“Don’t have much to say, just gutted and heartbroken. I love you so so so much my boy.
“If you know me then you know how much Enz meant to me, gonna miss you my guy.”
Stormzy disabled comments on the post, but fans reshared the videos and expressed their sympathy elsewhere.
One wrote: “A pain that never leaves you and a lot that forever remains unmatched.” Another added: “I know how that feels :(”
Stormzy bought Enzo in 2018 while dating Maya, spending £15,000 on the trained protection dog.
The grime MC – who had previously been stabbed three times before rising to fame – turned to security specialists Chaperone K9 for extra protection for himself and his then-girlfriend.
Chaperone K9 has also supplied dogs to West Ham striker Andy Carroll and Manchester United defender Phil Jones.
Maya once revealed how much the pair adored their pet, saying they loved taking Enzo for walks around their London neighbourhood.
In 2019, she told ES Magazine: “We’ve got a dog now, Enzo, it’s nice to have places to walk. I’ve always loved this city.”
Stormzy and Maya took a five-year break beginning in 2019 before rekindling their romance, only to split again last year.
The Love Island presenter, 30, and the rapper, 31, issued a joint statement that left fans stunned.
It read: “We’ve been laughing whilst drafting this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we’d be the couple announcing a breakup.
“But for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to allow us the space and grace that’s needed for us both to be able to navigate this next bit of our lives with peace, we thought it might be best to.”
Reflecting on their journey, Maya continued: “We fell madly in love in 2014, broke up in 2019, and then spent five years manoeuvring life apart.”
During their time apart, Maya dated basketball player Ben Simmons and the pair became engaged.
In August 2023, The Sun revealed that Maya and Stormzy had reunited after they were seen holding hands in Greece and later on a date night in London in October 2023.
Maya wrote: “We decided to try for the final time in August 2023, and we’ve spent this past year trying our best to make it work; however, we recently decided to call it quits.”
She added: *“We were 21 and 20 when we first met — both at the beginning of our careers – and spent five years growing together and then five years growing separately.
“So this final attempt required a whole lot of figuring out, relearning, and We still think the absolute world of each other, we still care and respect each other.
“We are still grateful for the time we’ve had together, and we are still friends and will always be friends (so if you see us having a lil catch-up at The Brits or something, don’t cause a fuss, we are dawgs!).
“Love you guys and thank you for all the love you’ve showered us with, it’s been beautiful! Mike & M x”*
Maya is now dating Manchester City footballer Rúben Dias.
Stormzy was last publicly seen with singer Victoria Monét in October 2024, with rumours of a split emerging in February.
However, he hinted he’s off the market and ready to settle down on his song Sorry Rach! released in May.
