JO Wilson is becoming a bigger name in the world of sport.
But who is the Sky Sports News presenter and what is her new documentary about?

Who is Sky Sports presenter Jo Wilson?
Jo Wilson was born in 1984 in Scotland.
She has always been involved in sports – growing up she was a sprinter and jumper who represented her county, Perth.
When she was 17 she received an athletics scholarship and so she went to school in New York for a year.
After school she went to Glasgow University where she got her Masters in Journalism.
In 2022 she was diagnosed with stage three cervical cancer which had spread to her lymph nodes.

Jo said: “I don’t think you ever expect to be diagnosed with cancer, as much as we hear the stats that it affects one in two people, but you just don’t think you’re going to be one out of the two.
“It was a massive shock, I was terrified,
“I’d just had a little girl, which made it so much worse. The first thing I asked was ‘am I going to die?’, because I didn’t want her to be without a mother.”
A month after her cancer diagnosis, she married her long term partner Dan McGrath.
Thankfully, she was told she was cancer free in May 2023 and has now been living her life free of the disease for two years.
Jo told The Sun that her and Dan broke down in tears after hearing the news: “It was hard to take it all in at once – but we both just felt overwhelmed with relief.”
Jo has released a documentary called Football, Cancer and Me.
In the doc she will be chatting to four other football figures who have been affected by cancer: David Brooks, Henri Lansbury, Tony Mowbray and Emma Saunders.
When discussing her upcoming show, Jo reflected: “If one person can see this and make a phone call with a doctor because of something they feel isn’t right, then it’s worth talking about.”
She captioned a recent Instagram post: “I share to raise awareness. Awareness is so so important, particularly when the latest NHS figures show a decline in eligible women going for screening.
“I don’t want anyone else to go through this and if just one woman books an overdue smear test after reading it, then that’s what matters.”
