I’M A Celeb medics are on red alert after humidity in the Australian jungle hit dangerous levels as stars arrived before last night’s launch of the new ITV series.
Bosses were particularly concerned about Jack Osbourne — as the hot, sticky conditions can worsen symptoms of multiple sclerosis, which he suffers from.
They were also wary of the fact Jack, 40, son of late rock legend Ozzy, and his new campmates have not had any time to get used to the challenging climate Down Under.
Humidity — how much water vapour is in the air — hit 90 per cent at the site in Dungay, New South Wales, yesterday. That is 20 per cent higher than the average for this time of year.
Campmates are set to sizzle in 33C (92F) heat today — with baking temperatures forecast throughout the week.
Such gruelling conditions can cause strain to the heart and blood vessels, dehydration and heat stress.
It can also make worse the symptoms of MS — including fatigue, numbness and tingling, which Jack has suffered from.
And it provides the perfect breeding ground for blood-sucking leeches, snakes and ticks.
The brutal conditions were created by thunderstorms which battered the camp on Friday and Saturday.
Jack, model Kelly Brook and ex-Lioness Alex Scott were among the ten stars who arrived in camp over the weekend — watched by millions as the series kicked off.

Former EastEnders star Shona McGarty and comedian Eddie Kadi both looked to be visibly feeling the heat.
A camp insider told The Sun: “The celebs have been hit with some of the worst Australia has to offer this year from the word go.
“They’ve been taken from lovely air-conditioned hotels to the humidity of the Aussie jungle with no time to adjust to the humidity.
“When it’s like this, it’s seriously uncomfortable just to breathe in — let alone do any form of physical activity like they’ll have to do to keep camp moving. It’s been a baptism of fire.”
The medical team have measures in place to protect the celebs as much as possible, including special water-activated cooling towels to prevent fainting.
Our source added: “They are well prepared for situations like this.”
The National Multiple Sclerosis website lists blurred vision, fatigue, muscle weakness, numbness in arms and legs and slowed reaction times as some of the symptoms which can be worsened by humidity.
It warns: “If you live with multiple sclerosis, you may notice that your symptoms feel worse when the weather is very hot or humid.
“A higher body temperature makes it harder for nerves damaged by MS to conduct electrical impulses.
“This can make it more difficult for you to function.
“Activities such as sunbathing, exercising and taking very hot showers or baths may affect your MS symptoms.”
Reality TV star and dad-of-four Jack was diagnosed with the condition in 2012 after experiencing numbness in his legs and vision loss in one eye.
He had a flare-up while performing on Dancing With The Stars in 2013, saying: “I hid it well, but I was having really bad problems with fatigue and balance, and I started tingling up my arms and legs.”
Other campmates who will be worried about the Aussie weather include YouTuber Angry Ginge — real name Morgan Burtwistle — whose fair skin means he can burn easily.
Before entering the jungle, he revealed that he had packed extra suncream.
Joking of the situation, Morgan, 24, said: “I’ve whacked on the factor 50 today and that’s just because I stayed in!”
