Tesco slashes price of 1L Baileys by more than 50% with just weeks to go until Christmas

TESCO has slashed the price of 1L bottles of Baileys by more than 50% as shoppers stock up ahead of Christmas.

Tesco usually sells it for £22.50.

The offer is available until December 8 and is for Clubcard holders only.

If you want to take advantage of the deal but don’t have a Clubcard, you can sign up for one for free.

Tesco says this is the cheapest is has sold the 1L bottle for all year.

Baileys is said to be the nation’s favourite festive drink and it’s famed for its smooth luxurious texture and distinctive taste.

With hints of chocolate and vanilla amongst the combination of Irish whiskey and Irish cream, it’s pretty irresistible.

If you don’t have a Tesco near you, Sainsbury’s also has a similar deal on currently.

You can get the 1L for £11 but only if you have a Nectar card.

Sainsbury’s usually sells the drink for £22, making it 50p cheaper than Tesco.

Elsewhere, you can get a bottle of Baileys for £13.98 in Asda.

Ocado is selling the same size bottle for £14.

Morrisons had been running a promotion up until November 2 where you could get a bottle for £11, but the price has now risen again to £14.

Top of the dupes

Our Consumer Reporter Rosie Taylor recently tested out which Baileys supermarket dupes are the best to give a go.

We tested supermarket own-brand versions of Irish cream liqueur from Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Lidl and Waitrose, to see how they compare with Bailey’s.

The winner was Sainsbury’s Irish Cream Liqueur, which costs £13.25 for 70ml.

Of course, this works out more expensive than the real version if you have a Nectar card.

But if you don’t have the loyalty card, it’s much cheaper than a £22 Baileys bottle.

Rosie said you’d struggle to tell the difference between Sainsbury’s dupe and the real thing.

The liqueur is thick, rich and creamy and a great copy for the taste of Bailey’s.

More Baileys treats

If you’re a true Baileys fan, you may want to try some of these treats.

The Irish cream brand recently launched two sweet and alcohol-free sauces in time for the festive season.

The Chocolate and Caramel sauces can be drizzled over desserts, stirred into hot drinks, poured over ice cream or added to seasonal cocktails.

Meanwhile, shoppers have also spotted new Baileys Chocolate Caramel Buttons on shelves.

They’re currently selling for £2.50 for a 90g pack in Iceland.
