CONTROVERSIAL bride Julia-Ruth has been slammed by the experts for giving the ‘worst apology’ in show history.
The MAFS UK group returned for the reunion commitment ceremony tonight and the spotlight was firmly on Julia-Ruth.
The bride previously shocked viewers when she revealed that she had slept with Maeve’s husband Joe and was planning dates with Nelly‘s ex Steven.
But yesterday Steven told her that he was only flirting with her to “p***” Nelly off”, which left a sour taste in Julia-Ruth’s mouth.
On tonight’s show, Julia finally apologised to Divarni in front of the entire group and Paul C. Brunson, one of the shows experts, but its half-heartedness went down like a lead balloon.
“Is there anything you have to say to him?,” prompted Paul in a serious tone.
Julia-Ruth thought for a moment before saying, “Yeah that I’m really sorry.”
She looked down at the ground and worked her mouth, though the emotions didn’t seem to meet her eyes.
Paul wasn’t convinced by the sincerity at all, and immediately called Julia-Ruth out.
“That was the worst apology I’ve ever heard in my life.”
This caused Julia-Ruth to snap but not at Paul, at Divarni who was just innocently sitting there.
“I do realise that you were hurt deeply and I’ve made lots of mistakes in this process but I’ve acknowledged what I’ve done.
Divarni simply retorted: “But you never cared about me once”, referring to Julia-Ruth’s openness about never feeling an emotional connection towards him when they were a couple.
Seeing that this conversation was going to only end in more disagreement another expert – dating coach Mel Schilling – moved talk on to more recent events concerning Julia-Ruth and Joe.
“Concerning your decision making about connecting with Joe,” Mel began. “How did that change from that platonic just reaching out to something more?”.
Julia-Ruth looked utterly blank-faced from being in the firing line.
Conversation lastly turned to address Julia-Ruth’s third relationship of the experiment – a budding fling with Steven.
Though after learning Steven only ever feigned interest in her to make its ex jealous, she ruthlessly tore into him for “using” her.
She said: “Steven said he used me to hurt Nelly, how dare you? I’m going to be honest, I’m not a tool for you to use to hurt someone else.”
Steven apologised and said he was “so angry” in himself, but Julia-Ruth insisted that was not a good enough excuse.
“I can’t take it back but I can be so apologetic,” Steven countered, but it didn’t go anywhere with anybody in the room as Julia-Ruth rolled her eyes and reached a hand up to hold her head.
