
A CHILD has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in a UK seaside town.
Paramedics responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck down near an Aldi supermarket it Margate at 3.11pm today.
The youngster was rushed to hospital from the scene on Northdown Road, in Cliftonville.
Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The road was cordoned off while investigations took place.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “We were called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Northdown Road, Margate at 3.11pm today.
“Officers and paramedics attended the scene where a child was treated for injuries.
“They were taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.
“The road was closed while emergency services were dealing with the incident and has now reopened.”
