A 19-YEAR-old girl has allegedly been sexually assaulted in a horror early hours attack with cops appealing for two witnesses to come forward.
An investigation was launched immediately after the alleged sexual assault in Leicester city centre during the early hours of October 26.
A 27-year-old man was previously arrested on suspicion of sexual assault in connection with the city centre attack.
He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries, officers said.
As the investigation into the horror continues detectives are appealing for two witnesses to come forward.
A man and a woman are believed to have been in the area at the time of the attack and are thought to have witnessed the harrowing incident.
Investigators from Leicestershire Police believe the female witness briefly spoke to the suspect.
The witness is described as having long dark hair and was wearing a long, black cardigan with horizontal white stripes on the bottom of the cardigan and sleeves.
The male witness was wearing a blue hat, green jacket and dark trousers.
Detective Constable Jon Williams said: “It is not suspected that the male and female witness have been involved in the reported offence in any way.
“However, as potential witnesses, they may have information which could assist our ongoing enquiries.
“Please think back to if you were in the city centre on the evening of Saturday 25 October into the early hours of Sunday 26 October and if this was you walking through Hotel Street as described above.
“If it is, please get in contact with us. You are not in any trouble but may be able to help us in our investigation. Thank you.”
