COPS have released CCTV of a van driving on a pavement where a “beautiful” 19-year-old woman was run over.
Lily Whitehouse was struck by a vehicle in Sandwell, West Midlands last Wednesday evening.
Emergency services were called to reports of the crash at around 9:50pm on November 5.
They found the teenager on Park Street, Oldbury with serious injuries.
But despite paramedics’ best efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Midlands Police has now released CCTV images showing a white van driving along the road where Lily was hit and urged any witnesses to get in touch.
Mohammed Azim, 41, was charged with murder and appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday.
The defendant, who police believe was known to Lily, was remanded into custody and will next appear at court on December 16.
Tributes have now flooded in for Lily from her devastated friends.
One wrote: “R.I.P Lily Whitehouse god bless you baby girl,” adding that they were “absolutely shocked’ and ‘sleep tight beautiful.”
Lily’s devastated family have set up a Gofundme page to raise funds towards her funeral and give the teenager the ‘”farewell she deserves”.
Her aunt Cleo Eden wrote: “On Wednesday, November 5, our beautiful Lily Whitehouse was tragically taken from us at just 19 years of age.
“Lily was full of light, laughter, and kindness. She had so many dreams ahead of her.
“As we face this unbearable loss, we are also working toward getting justice for Lily, ensuring her memory is honoured with dignity and love.
“We are creating this fundraiser to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, giving Lily the farewell she deserves.
“Any funds remaining after these costs will be placed into a trust fund for her baby, to support her when she is older and ensure Lily’s love continues to guide and care for her child in the years to come.
“Your kindness, support, and generosity mean more than words can express. In this devastating time, every message, prayer, and donation helps us carry on as we fight for justice and honour Lily’s beautiful memory.
“Thank you for standing with us during this heartbreaking chapter.”
The page has so far raised £1,265 towards its £2,000 target.
