SHOPPERS are rushing to grab deals this week after the high street shop launched a massive 40% off flash sale ahead of closing more than 100 stores.
The fashion chain, known for its accessories and teen must-haves, is closing 145 stores across the UK.
The brand has been on the UK high street since 1997, and bargain hunters now have a final chance to snap up cut-price pieces before doors shut for good.
Everything must go, with discounts of up to 40% off jewellery, hair clips, bags and more in a nationwide clear-out sale.
As part of the clearance, some branches have been offering “surprise bags”, mystery bundles packed with discounted accessories, as the retailer clears remaining stock.
Customers have shared their bargain finds online, with many describing it as the perfect chance to grab stocking fillers ahead of Christmas.
This week, one excited shopper claimed she managed to bag £622 worth of goodies from Claire’s, for just £21.
She found the deals in the East Kilbride branch, which closed earlier this week and dubbed her haul “the bargain of the year”.
Posting on Facebook, she explained: “My local Claire’s closed down. It was the last day today so they did some surprise bags – 20 items per bag for £3. I got four bags and some other items.”
She later uploaded photos showing piles of hair bands, bobbles and accessories.
Other users said they planned to visit their local store, with one writing: “Good for putting in Christmas shoebox appeal boxes for children.”
Alongside the 40% discounts, shoppers have also spotted an offer for 10 surprise items for £10 running in some branches.
The closures come despite a rescue deal to prevent the brand from falling into administration earlier this month.
The company struggled to recover from falling sales and the pressures of the high street downturn.
Investment firm Modella Capital snapped up 156 of the UK stores, securing around 1,000 jobs.
But administrators confirmed that 145 sites couldn’t be saved, and those stores are now clearing stock at record speed.

The flash sale is running for a limited time only and applies to closing-down stores nationwide, but the retailer’s famous ear-piercing service is not included in the discounts.

remain on the High Street in the UK and Ireland.
“The issues that Claire’s is facing are significant, and we will need to work collaboratively with all interested parties if our proposed rescue plan is to succeed.”
