WITH Christmas inching closer and closer, many of us are looking for the perfect dress to see us through party season.
And it seems M&S has come out with the perfect elevated LBD for whatever event you have.
The British high street retailer has an elevated black skater dress which looks uncanny to Odd Muse’s iconic pearl trim mini dress.
The dress became a viral must-have two years ago and still continues to be at the top of every fashionista’s wish-list.
But at an eye-watering £145, it’s not the most cost-effective option.
Thankfully, the M&S dupe comes in at a much more price-conscious £60 without scrimping on the bejewelled details.
The Cotton Rich Velvet Embellished Mini Skater Dress has a similar square neckline for a more formal feel and has a skater mini skirt to accentuate your body shape.
The M&S version comes with a diamond trimmed neckline whereas the Odd Muse number features pearls.
There is also a difference in the material used, with Odd Muse going for a classic fabric and M&S using velvet.
While the details may not be an exact match, the two look very similar side by side and the addition of velvet makes it the perfect Christmas-inspired dress.
M&S bosses say: “This skater dress is crafted from plush cotton-rich velvet for a luxuriously soft feel.
“It’s designed in a regular fit, with added stretch in the fabric for comfort.
“The square neckline is embellished with sparkling gems for a statement look.
“Gathering at the waist brings playful movement to the mini skirt.”
What’s more is that the M&S number comes in an inclusive size range, going from a 6 to 24 and has three lengths to choose from.
For those wanting to get a hold of the dress, you had better be quick.
The British retailer has listed it as one of their top November picks and is already a trending piece on the site.
How did Odd Muse become fashion’s must-watch label?
IT’S the fashion label everyone’s talking about, with stars like Molly-Mae Hague wearing their incredible designs. But just how did Odd Muse become one to watch?
Aimee Smale is the founder of Odd Muse, and came up with the idea because she didn’t want to compete with her colleagues while working as a buyer’s admin assistant for ASOS.
Having studied Fashion Business at university, Aimee had ‘literally loved’ the role and was eager to climb the corporate ladder before seeing how competitive it was.
Investing the £12,000 she’d been saving for a house deposit, the Essex girl launched Odd Muse in 2020 and her first 100 units sold out within days.
Having wondered whether she would have a career in fashion, she made £100,000 in three short months and her business flourish – even with her limited experience.
Now, Odd Muse is worth an estimated £5 million and even opened its first physical store in London late last year.
MORE M&S CHRISTMAS BUYS
It’s not the only Christmas party buy flying off the shelves in M&S.
The Marks & Spencer Satin Drawstring Wide Leg Trousers is part of its Day to Night collection, and for good reason.
The relaxed wide-leg fit makes it ideal to wear to the office with ballet pumps and can easily be transformed to partywear with a pair of heels.
The satin trousers give them an elevated look and come in five different colours, black, dark chocolate, ivory, navy and moss green.
Costing £38, the trousers are an essential for the colder months to keep you snug while elevating your look.
They also come in an inclusive size range going from a 6 to 24, and have four length options to pick from.
What’s more, is that while the trousers look formal, they have a drawstring waist, making them comfy to wear all night long, even if you have eaten too many roast potatoes.
