TEMPLEGATE’S tips for Thursday’s horse racing are below.

OCEAN CONQUEST (12.55 Ludlow, nap)
The Twiston-Davies runner looked a different horse when winning on comeback here two weeks ago. He found two miles on the sharp side but managed to get his head in front near the line. Going up in distance here looks a wise move and he still looks a good few pounds ahead of the handicapper.
LEADER IN THE PARK (3.25 Newbury, nb)
Should get his own way in this small field. He likes to dominate and won from the front a couple of times in similar contests last season. Trainer Ben Pauling has made a good start to the campaign.
ABSOLUTE STAR (6.15 Chelmsford, treble)
Has won two of her past three including on the sand at Kempton last time. She didn’t have to hit top gear there and can cope with a 5lb rise in the weights.
PRIZED JET (1.20 Sedgefield, Lucky 15)
He was going much the best before falling late here last time and has moved to the excellent Jennie Candlish since. She can make amends here.
