VIEWERS have expressed their feelings about the experts’ final chat with one estranged couple.
Fans watched as the once-happy husband and wife took a solo seat in front of the grilling experts.
MAFS lovers took to social media after former couple Ashley and Grace met up individually in front of the experts.
Sex therapist Charlene Douglas told Ashley: “I think what’s fair to say is that communication for you two was going in different directions.”
She continued: “If a partner is saying to you they don’t feel comfortable with something you’ve done – if your reaction is dismissive, you’re likely to get another reaction from them.
“Often times, partners just want to feel validated.”
Mel Schilling reacted to the news Ash had ‘picked a lock’ on the toilet door in order to ‘be playful’ with his wife.
She said: “You keep saying, ‘You’re married. It’s not a permission slip to cross boundaries.”
Paul C Brunson added: “I think everything you’ve done, my wife and I have done – the difference is, we’ve been married for 23 years and we have built a level of undeniable trust.
“You started off on a different page. When you cross a boundary, you then take on the role of a bully.
“It’s almost about being aware of where the boundary is and that was definitely a boundary for you.”
One fan defended the groom and wrote: “Painting Ash as a predator. What the…?”
“Why are the experts constantly siding with Grace? They’ve actually been ridiculous with their situation and seem to be blaming Ash. Constantly pandering to Grace,” wrote another Ashley supporter.
“To be fair, Ash did seem to cross Grace’s boundaries, however her boundaries were unusual for someone who decided to go on a reality tv programme and marry a stranger,” noted another.
One Grace fan commented: “Dear women, if you’re siding with Ash and spewing venom at Grace, you’re feeding the tired old trope that women hate women. He was held to account by the experts for a reason.”
“Sorry but the ‘experts’ need to go on a refresher course, how dare they accuse poor Ash of being a bully! Grace was a total nightmare,” ranted a viewer.
“Looks like he may have gone too far on a few occasions, not out of malice… maybe not entirely reading the room… but I believe Grace has some issues that she also needs to recognise… so if they take something out of this it may help them going forward,” suggested another.
The midwife, 31, from Norwich tied the knot with Ashley on the E4 dating show.
They clashed on various issues and recently called it quits following spending Home Stays apart.
At the final commitment ceremony, Grace and Ashley opted not to appear on the show.
Mel explained to the group: “Obviously you’ll all notice that Grace and Ashley are not with us today.
“They’ve had a rocky couple of weeks and as a result, felt they needed more time to reflect and they won’t be joining us today.”
