A WOMAN has revealed how she’s still able to afford travelling despite leaving the UK with just £1,000 in her pocket three years ago.
Prior to ditching the UK, Kelly Wick was working at a chip shop and ”hated” her life – but since then, she’s managed to turn it upside down, visiting some of the most beautiful countries in the world.

In just three years since packing her bags with £1,000 in her bank account, the 25-year-old has explored and lived in Bali, Thailand and Dubai.
And it seems like Kelly has no plans to return any time soon – especially after she discovered you can find roast dinners in Bali.
”That’s pretty much the only good thing about England – the roast dinners, the good food, and that’s it,” said Kelly who posts under the username @kellywickrx.
”The taxes are higher, the apartments are expensive, the people are miserable.
”Bali has beaches and it has warm weather all year round,” she said in a recent video.
According to Kelly, she was sceptical about her travels at first – and even thought she’d have to come back ”after a few months” once the funds had run out.
But desperate to extend her travels and see the world, the 25-year-old decided to take a leap of faith and became a ”digital nomad” creating UGC (user-generated content) content for brands.
UGC is used by companies to build trust and authenticity, as it provides genuine perspectives and can be highly influential in consumer purchasing decisions.
Since becoming a content creator, the TikToker has made a fortune – and now she even teaches others willing to overhaul their life.
”I currently make about £100k a year and I do this while travelling – all from my phone,” she said in a video.
”I’ve got to this point within the last few years. I was trying and erroring so many different things – and then I finally found the thing that actually made me this money.
”I’ve shown other people and they’ve mastered it,” said the TikToker, adding ”it’s such a great way to make money”.
According to Kelly, who’s since raked up more than 130k followers, you don’t need to be an influencer either.
How easy is it to move abroad?
Brexit means British citizens now have to apply for visas to move to countries within the EU. While some countries residency restrictions are easier than others, here’s what you need to do at home before moving:
- Notify HMRC about your upcoming move.
- Let your local authority know and provide a forwarding address.
- Contact your mortgage and utility providers and bank before leaving.
- If you have paid enough UK national insurance contributions, you can qualify for a state pension abroad – contact the International Pension Centre.
- You can sign up to the Royal Mail’s redirection service.
- If you have outstanding student loans, contact the Student Loans Centre.
- If you have children, give due notice to childcares and schools.
”I just basically connect straight with brands and services and help them with their advertising by being a content creator for them,” she explained in a clip.
”Trust me it’s possible! Don’t give up on your dreams,” she told her followers in the comments.
Kelly’s videos have racked up hundreds of thousands of views, with many flocking to share their thoughts.
One person said: ”You seem happy with your decision – good for you to go for it.”
Someone else chimed in: ”Well done Kelly, you are a inspiration to the youngsters, so many congratulations.”
”Your story is very inspirational, I know a lot of mates are in stuck in dead end jobs in London and can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel,” a third agreed.
