MARRIED At First Sight bride Rebecca Fenney has shot down ‘misleading’ accusations that she messaged her ex behind husband Bailey’s back after filming the TV show.
The beauty nurse and fitness enthusiast, 32, immediately hit it off with easy-going Bailey, 36, on the TV experiment with their chemistry fizzing through the screen and the relationship quickly turning intimate.
Despite the pair still being an item on the E4 show, an online article surfaced today alleges Rebecca told her personal trainer ex Mark that she still had feelings for him behind Bailey’s back during a meet up after the experiment had ended.
The same article, which promotes Mark’s gym, also accuses Rebecca of ghosting Mark in the weeks leading up to the show being filmed as well as failing to tell him she was taking part.
Another claim states that Rebecca roped in MAFS co-star Leah to contact Mark during filming to “make sure he was okay”.
However, a source told us Rebecca and Mark were never officially together, despite being close at times during the year they had known each other, and that her ex is using her profile to boost his business.
The insider said: “They were never in an official relationship, and looking at the credit at the end of the blog post to promote a business, it’s pretty obvious somebody is trying to ride on the back of her success on MAFS UK.
“It’s disappointing for Rebecca that someone would do that, but sadly not surprising.
“Throughout this process, Rebecca has conducted herself with integrity and kindness, qualities that unfortunately have been taken advantage of in the past.”
They continued: “It’s disappointing to see someone spreading misinformation for potential professional gain.”
“The timing and tone of these statements speak for themselves. Rebecca is thriving both personally and professionally, and it’s regrettable that others feel the need to insert themselves into her story now that she’s in such a positive place.”
“It’s unfortunate when individuals seek to attach themselves to someone else’s success, but Rebecca’s focus remains firmly on her work and the positive direction her life is moving in.”
A spokesperson for Rebecca said: “Rebecca wishes no ill will toward anyone involved but feels it’s important to clarify that the narrative being shared online is misleading.
“She continues to focus on her career, a positive personal life, and the exciting projects ahead.”
Bailey and Rebecca remain one of the more popular pairings on this year’s series even though the groom faced cheating allegations.
However, there are rumours swirling they’ve gone their separate ways.
Eagle-eyed fans have spotted Rebecca is still running her aesthetics clinic in Liverpool while Bailey is based in Hove – a five hour drive away – and the pair have yet to be seen anywhere near the other’s home.
They also don’t follow each other on Instagram – though this may be to throw viewers off the scent ahead of the final vows later this month.
