Millions of consumers were unknowingly charged inflated interest rates on Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) agreements to maximise dealer commissions.

A landmark Supreme Court ruling in August 2025 found that this type of practice was deemed unfair to customers, since dealers received a commission from the lender, whilst the customer was not properly informed of it.
This has now potentially paved the way for up to an estimated maximum of £9.7 billion in refunds.
