STRICTLY Come Dancing fans were left delighted tonight after the return of a “missing” part of the show.
On tonight’s Halloween special results show, fans were left dumbstruck when Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola faced the dance-off alongside Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon.
But ahead of the performances, viewers were delighted with a returning addition to the show – an interview with the other two couples who were potentially facing the bottom.
Throughout this series, in a slight tweak to the format, the cast were whittled down to a bottom four, with both bottom contenders being revealed at the same time.
This compares to previous years, where the results were split in two, with a dance-off contestant being announced at the end of each half.
But as part of the switch up, safe contestants were sent to talk to Claudia about the week and what lies ahead while the final four weren’t given the opportunity.
However, it seems like fan outcry has been noticed by the team, and now every contestant who is marked as safe is given the opportunity for a chat.
This week, after narrowly escaping the dance-off, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Karen Hauer spoke before Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin.
Amber’s chat proved particularly emotional, with the star tearing up as she spoken about fearing she’d “let Nikita down” – something he assured her she could “never do”.
The team then lightened the mood by sharing they’ll be dancing the samba next week, with Nikita jumping on a table and wiggling his hips while he danced as the rest of the cast cheered him on.
But the return of the segment was enough to keep fans happy, with them sharing their thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) about its reintroduction.
“They’re talking to Harry and Amber?! Have they actually listened to people’s feedback that not talking to them is cruel? #Strictly” wrote one.
“THANK YOU @bbcstrictly for finally listening to us and talking to all the couples who make it through!!” said another.
“At least they’re talking to the other dancers this week, it’s been unfair that they have missed out on the sofa chat the previous weeks,” added a third.
While a fourth said: “Finally – the last two celebs who are in the bottom 4 who make it through are finally being given the chance to speak to Claudia about next week.”
Unfortunately, the happy moment also came with sadness, as it was unanimously decided by the judges that Ellie and Vito would be eliminated.
On their exit, Vito emotionally shared: “Honestly, there are no words I can use to describe how proud I am of you [Ellie] and you did really change my life so much. You made me such a better person.
“At the beginning of this year, I said to myself please, please, please can you send me a beautiful angel into my life? And now you arrived.
“I’ve never had a little sister but I always wanted one. Now, I have you and you’re my little sister forever, and your big brother is always by your side.”
