How Britney Spears’ sons & Kevin Federline are teaming up with her dad to ‘save’ troubled star amid fears ‘she may die’

FOR 13 years, Britney Spears was under a controversial conservatorship that saw her life and money controlled by her father, Jamie – and had fans launching a ‘Free Britney’ campaign.

But, four years after she legally took back control through a court ruling, her estranged dad Jamie and mum Lynne are urging their troubled daughter to seek medical help – with some surprising allies.

Astonishingly, the Toxic singer’s two sons – Sean Preston and Jayden James – are at the centre of a bid for Britney to receive urgent professional care, amid fears that her mental health is spiralling and could end in tragedy.

We can also reveal that the family are discussing a potential return to a conservatorship, although that would involve a tough legal battle through the courts.

Britney’s erratic behaviour for over a year – including online posts showing her dancing naked, brandishing knives and one with dog excrement clearly on the floor – has left family members terrified she may “self harm” – or “end up in a problematic mental state”.

Last week, fresh concerns were raised after she insisted on driving home after a night out at a restaurant in Thousand Oaks, California, despite pals urging her not to get behind the wheel.

The singer’s BMW was seen making a screeching U-turn and swerving dangerously across a highway, straddling the centre lines.

One associate of Jamie revealed that the “same signs are present” that led him to seize control of Britney’s affairs through a medical intervention and approved conservatorship in 2008.

Now her two teen sons have told a source they “hope that someone can help their mother”.

A long-term family associate says that Jamie, who no longer speaks to his superstar daughter, is terrified over “how things could go dramatically wrong” and she “may tragically die”.

Jamie, who is battling his own health issues in Louisiana, is back in regular contact with his former wife Lynne, their grandsons and the star’s ex-husband Kevin Federline “after some tricky times”.

K-Fed’s new memoir and explosive interviews, detailing his ex wife’s disturbing behaviour have “ignited a desire to take action and move for an intervention.”

‘Erratic behaviour’

Former-chef-turned-manager Jamie has always insisted that despite being painted as a villain he did all he could to protect his daughter.

The family associate added: “Over the last year Jamie, Lynne and others within their friend group have been examining whether there is a way to allow Britney to get help or even go further.

“An intervention would be tough given Britney is very careful to keep her parents away, given she doesn’t speak to Jamie and has a frosty relationship with her mum.

“Since Kevin has allowed his kids to visit their grandfather, there has been dialogue and conversations about what steps can be made to help Britney.

“Sean and Jayden have been vocal to their father and grandparents about trying to help their mum.

“They are deeply concerned because they have seen her go through erratic behaviour for many years, including angry screaming fits; raging, crying episodes and dark depressions.

“They want the best for her but given her lengthy mental and bi-polar conditions there is a fear, within this group of people, that Britney may hurt herself or be led by others into problematic situations.

“The discussions are now how steps can be taken to aid Britney, whether it be through LA County officials or another court method.

“There are similarities to how Britney behaved back in 2007 and 2008 before she was hospitalised and then placed under court control.

“Britney needs stability, and how Jamie and his grandsons work towards helping her voluntarily seeking help is being discussed.

“It is a very heated and tense time for everyone. Britney won’t engage with them willingly.

“And she has control of who goes in and out to her home, so something is likely to give.”

‘Gaslighting & lies’

Federline’s memoir and US promotional interviews have made shocking allegations against his ex, from her punching Sean Preston in the face to using cocaine while breastfeeding and watching them sleep with a knife in her hand.

The 47-year-old claimed he prays daily for her safety adding: “You have two sons that are screaming for a life with you.”

Last week Britney hit back on social media at Federline several times slamming him for “constant gaslighting” and “white lies”.

“I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys,” she said.

“Relationships with teenage boys are complex. I have felt demoralised by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life.

“Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by (their) own father for me.”

Britney has also referred to her troubled past, adding: “I do feel like my wings were taken away and brain damage happened to me a long time ago 100 percent.

“I have of course moved on from that troubling time in my life and I’m blessed to be alive.”

‘Safeguarding structure’

Jamie has raised concerns about his daughter’s long term mental health in recent years.

His lawyer Vivien Thoreen outlined Britney’s severe mental issues in court documents filed towards the end of her conservatorship.

Thoreen wrote: “If the public knew all the facts of Ms Spears’ personal life, not only her highs but also her lows, all of the addiction and mental health issues that she has struggled with, and all of the challenges of the Conservatorship, they would praise Mr Spears for the job he has done, not vilify him.

“But the public does not know all the facts, and they have no right to know, so there will be no public redemption for Mr Spears.

“The Conservatorship has provided Ms Spears with a structure to help her navigate the daily challenges of her personal life, family matters, medical issues, and career.

“By nature, the structure includes safeguards to protect the Conservatee from self-harm or harm from others.

“There is no doubt that the Conservatorship saved Ms Spears from disaster, supported her when she needed it the most, protected her and her reputation from harm, and facilitated the restoration of her career.”

Thoreen and Federline’s reps have not commented on this story.
