As a make-up enthusiast and with a taste for anything extravagant, I knew these HGVs had my name written all over them, and so, naturally, I had to take them for a spin and do a P Louise advent calendar review.

Beauty advent calendars, in my eyes, are investments and often involve putting down a fairly hefty amount of cash, so it’s important to know if you’ll be getting your money’s worth.
The P Louise four-part trucks cash in at a whopping £250, so I was expecting full-sized items, new surprises and a diverse range of products, not just make-up or skincare samples.
Also, with the aesthetics raising the bar, you need to know that the contents would match the excitement and that the design and products are worth the luxury price tag.

First impressions
You may need an HGV to lug about the whopping great calendar, which arrived in four large, but well-protected boxes.

After unpacking all the parts and constructing the trucks, it was clear that the LED lights on two of them didn’t work.
However, this almost didn’t matter too much as the trucks themselves provide enough of a festive presence without the lighting.
As I made my way through the boxes and mini sacks, it occurred to me very early on that there were plenty of full-sized products, including make-up, skincare, tools, palettes and even sets of fake eyelashes.
Also, being familiar with the brand, I noticed a haul of best-selling items such as Bad Bitch Energy and The Cheek of It Liquid Blush, among others.
As I made my way to box 25 (also a massive bonus that there are 25 doors), I was astounded by the value for money as well as the mixture of scents, including festive Hot Toddy and Marzipan flavours, as well as Blue Raspberry (non-festive scents).

Does it deliver?
Overall, I truly believe this calendar delivers for P Louise fans and ultimately any scent-heavy, loving girly girl.
Although I would say it’s more targeted towards a younger demographic, the joys this calendar brings can be felt at any age, and there are enough products in there to be worthwhile for any taste.
It’s so set apart from competitors, being the only make-up automobile advent calendar on the market, and so much of the value of it comes from the excitement of opening the different trucks every day.

When compared to other beauty brands’ advent calendars such as the Charlotte Tilbury beauty advent calendar or the Benefit Glam Cube, it does feel a lot; however, the significant difference is that P Louise offers almost 100% full-sized products, including a quadruple layered set for the 25th door.
The full-sized products also set it apart from competitors such as No7 or Benefit, whose calendars are made up of mostly minis.
